A bit early, but I think we have a clearer picture of the candidates so far. Please feel free to add your own or discuss my candidates:
1. Scott Parker. A revelation for Tottenhamโs midfield and a very cheap buy from West Ham. His efforts have propelled Tottenham to 3rd in the league and were even in contention for the title at one point.
2. David Silva. Had a slow first season at City when he arrived as a big money transfer from Valencia. But this season he has lighted up the Premier League with his silky and stylish brand of football.
3. Demba Ba. Buy of the season? Stoke refused the chance to sign him up, citing a long-tem knee problem, but looks to have been a poor judgement. Scored plenty of goals and has stood out in an impressive Newcastle team this season.
4. Juan Mata. In an otherwise turbulent season at Chelsea, Mata looks to be a positive point for the Blues with his impressive passing style and wicked left foot. A future Premier League star in the making.
5. Robin Van Persie. Top Goal scorer in the league. 48 goals in 2011, 33 goals this season. The form striker on the planet. Naturally I am biased, but my candidate for the accolade.
Player of the Season?

@ Chronic
The thing is, to celebrate, even in a 'pathetic' match, you have to score that winning goal in the first place. Arsenal are doing that, and without definately pathetic arrogance of 'London Top Boys' (sic!)
