Atleti Pres drops Lpool hint for Aguero?

Obviously massively speculative to talk about Aguero joining Liverpool at this moment in time, and the source isn't the most reliable, but it is direct quotes, which do firm it up a bit.

What do you guys rekon, just picking a random foreign club in Liverpool, as he also mentions Sevilla which is odd. do you think we're in the hunt for him? If so likelihood of making it happen?

Also quote from his agent suggests that Champs league footy the decisive factor in what club he joins, my guess as long as there is aspirations and serious possibilities of Champs league in near future. If Juve are touted as one of the front runners to sign him, is it impossible for Lpool to be also, after all he has claimed to be a Liverpool fan in the past.

Anyway ramble over, this is probably ot going to happen and he will end up at Real or somewhere most likely, but its always fun to dream eh...?

Thoughts?

Great player, with all these players being linked with liverpool every day it getting more and more difficult to see what formation we will play... Also shows that you dont only need champions league footy to bring top quality footy players in, history, ambition and staff are also major factors- which we have lots of!
Lets just hope we sign a top noch winger aswell!

He said “The players play where they want, and until they get tired. But if Aguero wants to go to Real Madrid, tough luck for us. If he plays for Sevilla, better, and if he goes to Liverpool, much better.”

I think he's just using as as an example that he would prefer Aguero to go abroad. Nothing else to it in my opinion.

I would have to agree with El Pistolero (U1304). I think they would prefer that he left Spain so they don't have to face him playing for their 'rivals.'

On his day he's one of the best strikers about and cannot for the life of me see why he would want to come to a club without Champions League football.

I would also imagine his wages would be astronomical and totally not in line with our plans.

Sounds like he wants him playing for a team that won't be competing against them in Europe to me

It looks to me like he would just prefer him to go overseas and used Liverpool as an example of how Aguero signing for us wouldn't be as detrimental to Athletico, just as the Torres transfer was.

There is as much chance we sign him as Sevilla signing him.

“I swear to you I do not know where Aguero will play. Only his agent and himself know that,” he told Sportyou.

Yeh I think El Pistolero (U1304) and LastChanceForHangingBaskets (U1826) are probably right, and i did think he would be demanding wages of £150,000 + pw which could be too much.

He would be a dream dream signing however....

id love him to come, but will he really turn down a big move to Real or an Italian club just to come to us after a 6th place finish last season? Atletico finished higher than that last season and while la liga may be less congested, its still a blo ody good league. he may view it as a step backwards
