why should i?
i have a dark sense of humour for which i do not need to apologize for- i find frankie boyle funny but not bernard manning or michael macintyre, tiz all down to personal taste. i wouldnt expect you to laugh at my jokes either but i do deplore PC facism.
as i stated on tuesday night, i thought it was funny but i certainly wouldnt chant it and i didnt condone it.
i actually find the fact ND couldnt go to the city ground to see his own club play because of the abusive chants from forest fans more offensive- he was alive then and could hear them.
forest fans have absolutely no right whatsoever to moral highground on this one...
yeah i took the mick about dalglish but i am actually in agreement with you over the suarez affair. that was pretty close to bringing the game into disrepute.

I love FRANKIE BOYLE. I remember laughing at our @runway@ song against MAN UTD a couple of years ago TBH, but Id rather we didnt sing the doughty chants, as I new instantly as we won, it detracts away from a very honest footballer scoring a memorable goal

ray - i have got it well and truly in perspective, thats why im not up in arms about the chants and accept them for what they are.
peni - was that the ronaldo tunnel one? that was hilarious.... nearly as funny as the maxwell "i am sailing" chants.
the bottom line is football matches arent really for the sensitive easily offended types, never have been and hopefully never will. the spirit of the terrace has been sanitised enough as it is- if ya dont like it you can always watch cricket.

The dave jones chant was the best
But what annoyed me on tuesday was that our fans were too busy taking the pee out of a dead chairmen rather than supporting our INJURED CAPTAIN

I have to say kernowram is right here. The level of abuse towards ND from Forest fans (eg on Vital, not so much on this site) was disgraceful.
Understandable in the context of him sacking BD and the season which has resulted, but anyone who laid into ND then has no right to blame Derby fans for predictable sick chanting.
Not saying it makes it OK, just that you expect that sort of thing at a football match. Sometimes it can even be witty (wasn't there a chant based on 'Lido Shuffle' - "Mido, he's got a bomb you know"-?

I'm generally all for banter against the fans, but my immediate thoughts when hearing those chants about Doughty were "are any of his family or close friends hearing this?", cos that extra pain possibly caused was and is unnecessary.
Same thing when Leeds come to Pride Park. I hate them with a passion as a collective, but when people start singing "always look out for Turks carrying knives", you're not bantering against the 'collective', you're narrowing it down to actual people, people you dont know, and making it personal.
I personally was ashamed to be in amongst those people singing the Doughty songs, simply because they personalised anything towards individual people and not the collective of Forest fans.
Similarly, I think it's wrong when Lampard's mum died to abuse him. When Commons baby was still-born to abuse him and many other things where it's singling someone out as an individual and not the collective of fans.

Mostyn - you're right, the personalisation is just plain wrong.
I dont know many of the current crop of UK comedians, and after having seen this mckintyre geezer, I'm rather relieved.

the chanting was a disgrace.frankie boyle and his ilk are nothing more than verbal school yard bullies and not worth the oxygen they breath
