Do you reckon football clubs

will carry out regular and thorough heart check ups to prevent or foresee any sort of problems which might occur later in that players career?

Players I'm thinking about is that Blackburn defender can't remember his name who was taken off because his heart was beating irregulalry.

And Cristiano Ronaldo who had a heart operation at a young age.

I'm sure thorough check ups are done regularly with the new technology and more care.

But some things just can't be detected I suppose.

If there isn't, there should be.

Surely they have to do regular check ups for insurance purposes.

With the amount of money in football these days they do very thorough check ups including the heart. There was talk about it after Marc Vivien Foe died.

If a club is going to spend even £1m its worth spending a little bit on a heart scan, let alone the amounts they spend these days.

it takes 5 minutes to do a heart and arterial ultrasound.. not sure why it's not done for every athlete in every sport

Every footballer is tested for heart defects, from PL to non league.

It is just something very difficult to check for.

Screening should be increased in the general public as well.
