is so selfish. he was one of our best players first 3 months this season but since then he is going downhill. he could pass the ball 4-5 times at the 16 m box however he chooso not to. he doesnt desrve to play from start untill he learn what does a mean to be a team player.

I would go as far and drop him from the squad to play Man City and tell him the reason why he is being dropped.

He's not Tevez, he shouldn't be dropped from the squad. There's no need to blow this out of proportion

On current form he should not get a minute of play until he sorts himself out... BUT, in the current formation, we need him unfortunately, would still rather have him than Malouda or Kalou on the wing.

What frustrating is that Danny is a talented player. Many times he did 90% right but refused to pass the final ball. If he delivered the easy passes he would be a candidate for MOM today.

I only meant for this game just to give him a kick up the jacksie, also if there is 1 game he would want to play in it would be this one just to show them what they are missing.

Agreed, this game was the final straw for me. He has so much potential but trying to force the fact that he wants to be played central by refusing to pass from wide is getting boring.
He may only be 22 but I am pretty sure his vision still allows him to see team mates that are better placed.
I also think that if he had passed in certain situations today, especially in the 1st half, we may have grabbed a couple more goals. Start adding those up over a season.........he is affecting the team.
What do I know though, maybe he is being asked to do it

yea, maybe he was given authorisation to try and score always

Was he asked to ignore other players' runs? Was he asked to miss sitters? To dwell on the ball?

I don't know if it was spotted on the TV but Torres was fuming at one point in the first half when Sturridge clearly should have put him in and even had a go at him. Talented yes but clearly lacks a footballing brain at present.

steryd,
All I am saying is, that we see examples of how selfish he is once/twice a week on matchday, the other players around him must see it on an almost daily basis. I cannot believe his team mates do not lambast him for it on the pitch, unless they see or know things we do not.
Pure speculation.
