According to stringers twitter mackail-smith will join tomorrow. Good news in my opinion. Also rumours are than Sven is in talks with man city for ben mee. Even better news! It's exciting times for us Leicester fans.

Would be pleased with the player himself but maybe £3 million is a bit over the top. However, I suppose the fee is subjective to his performance. If he scores 20-25 goals that fire us to promotion then I'm sure we'll be saying what a bargain at £3 million.

sorry, could not resist

If he gets us promoted £3M will seem like peanuts to the money the club will earn in the Prem!

...It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not...

Have to say I'm also in the "hope I'm wrong" camp.
What makes CMS a better prospect than say Fryatt? Both delivered in Div 1 but have average pedigree at the next level. Sven shows complete faith in one (to the tune of £3m if the speculation is believed) but a lack of faith and a relatively paltry transfer fee for the other. There's no logic in this game.
Also ( much as I can't stand the bloke) D.J has been linked to QPR for £1.25m , having scored 13 in the Premiership.
They must see us coming !

I disagree I think it will be a: "shot through the heart" if we don't make it now

I'm not at all keen on CMS, and I'm not sure many are. I think he'd do a decent job in a wider position of a front 3, cause he's quick and tricky, but as the main man in a front 3....not keen.
As others have said, I'll support him, and hope to be proved wrong.
Speaking of DJ - he's off to Rangers.

BBC are reporting it now as well, so it aint just Stringer:
Craig Mackail-Smith 'expected to join' Leicester City

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony is confident striker Craig Mackail-Smith will join Leicester City, possibly before the weekend.
The 27-year-old will meet Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson on Friday after the clubs agreed a fee earlier in the week.
MacAnthony said West Ham are still interested in the forward but told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I would expect him to sign for Leicester on Friday."
