Revitalised

We seem to be hitting a rich vein of form when it counts and I am becoming more and more optimistic as the days go by. Back to back wins is a great sign of a resurgence and I always kept my faith in the lads. The fact is there are 3 teams worse than us in the league. I pray that Hoilett stays loyal to the Rovers and signs a new contract he is quality. The Yak keeps chugging along he looks better than ever.

With all that said what is now the general consensus about Kean? I know his record is still appalling but with things starting to turn in our favour we should be able to stay up. Will people finally start singing Keanos Blue & White Army?! I certainly didn't see any banners or as many t-shirts around Ewood Park saying Kean Out.

I personally think he can turn things around and if he keeps us up he deserves a lot of credit. I dont hate the man at all he is certainly beginning to win me over. He was thrown in at the deep end with Venkys and to keep us up with those fools in charge is a near miracle! Now lets go get revenge at the Reebok there is no way we want to give 6 or even 4 points away to Bolton that would really be a problem for me.

And my point is that anything said by an organisation now synnonymous with lying is gonna make you think the opposite is true.

Synonymous in the eyes of the negative perhaps.

Top 4, Europe, Beckham, Ronaldinho etc I have never considered lies, more misguided ambition and sound bites blown out of proportion.

None of these other 'lies' really concern me in any way.

Quite frankly Salgado could be fitter than a butchers dog, I'd still want him as far away from the pitch as possible!

So in summary the lies you care about aren't lies, the lies you don't care about aren't lies, and the lies covering truths you agree with aren't lies.

But only in the eyes of the negative are we constantly lied to, flawless logic.

Not really, say we have ambitions of European football but not achieving that last season or this season isn't a lie, nor is expressing an interesting Ronaldinho after his agent touts him to all the clubs in England...

They are not lies, so I as a fan, did not feel lied too. Every football club does and should talk itself up, and I'm sure most fail to deliver exactly as planned...

I'm not sure the club ever actually lied directly about Salgado, Nelsen or Robets and have openly now stated there were not any contractual issues. Besides, they are all too old and rubbish now so it doesn't really matter.

Kean lying or not in court is his business and has no reflection of his ability to win football matches, so doesn't bother me in the slightest.

As for Samba, we did want to sell him and did everything to not sell him to a Premier League rival with a firm stance. The player however acted like a total child throughout and Kean was unable to get him to play again. Clearly the rest of the playing squad are happy and united playing for Kean.

If Samba wants to earn more money, live in a freezing cold country flying to every game and have racist fans throw bananas at him then he has made his bed.

Terrific player undoubtedly, but so far he hasn't been missed.

Well believe it or not mcteeth, you are in a tiny, tiny minority of people who actually think Venkys are a good thing for Rovers. Most of the rest of us consider them to be robbing, clueless, tyrannical, lying sc.um. So when someone from the club comes out and officially dismisses a rumour, it in no way closes the book on the issue. In fact it barely even moves a page.

You've missed my motivations again, I do not think Venky's are good for Rovers, I think the best way to look at them is about as good as we could have got given that the Trust were desperate to sell.

I admit that I had over estimations in how good they'd be but I don't think they have been as bad as people make out.

I think they've had to learn a lot from a very naive position and didn't realise how much effort and money it takes to keep a club like Rovers just treading water.

Regardless of net spend I have been pleased with the amount that has been spent on new players and it is much more than we've been used too and that hasn't coincided with a rise in ticket prices.

Given our struggles in the league, those fears have been transposed to everything that happens with the club. Had we remained mid-table and loosely successful I doubt many of the current 'problems' would be under such scrutiny.

I think they've look at the playing squad, our wage bill and revenue streams and realised a big problem, it is not sustainable, which it isn't. Rovers are not the only club that are looking at young player development instead of simply buying players and paying high wages.

Fundamentally football needs to change in that respect, and I echo Savage's recent video saying there are far too many very average players on massive wages, then you look at Rovers previously and realise his point:

Salgado
Nelsen
Grella
Diouf
Roberts
Benni
Kalinic
Emerton - harsh but Formica will be on far less money.

I think Venky's have changed tact somewhat and are more focused on sustainability, both with the playing squad and the fans. But with Rovers down in the dungeons struggling selling off experienced players, buying youngsters, promoting academy players with an inexperienced Manager is very worrying.

But you look at Swansea at one end of the scale and Barcelona at the other, and neither waste money they don't have on average dross and both prove the system works.

I feel it is finally beginning to take shape for Rovers. If we can maintain our strong finish, keep this squad together, I think we can start next season positively.

Wils, massively not gone unnoticed. Huge problems if they go down.

I understand your point around "best we could hope for" McT, If you're desperate to sell something and someone offers you what you ask then the last thing on your mind is what they'll do with it, if you sold you car, it might be your pride and joy but if someone buys it then drives a JCB over it then there's diddly you can do about it even if you don't like it
