I was chatting with friends about the situation and its the fact that it was viewed by so many that must have contributed to saving his life, If it was behind closed doors would CPR have gone on so long? I Honestly don't know having never borne witness to such a critical situation, but is that the "normal" length of time? and maybe that might change if not.

Again best wishes to him and his family, Just time the press naffed off and left them alone! or at least the "non Bolton" press

Diamond dust, a tad insensitive I think. If it had been one of your players I think that you might just have a different take on events.

Every Bolton fan and probably every Spurs fan, along with millions of other football fans in this country and world wide, have welcomed any update in news about Fabrice.

I respect the fact that you are entitled to your opinion but at the same time I would say that you and Wild Rover, are probably in the minority.

Precisely that.

If it was one of their family for example it will touch the hearts of the people effected. Due to the massive exposure of this it has touched the hearts of thousands.
COYWs lets do the double over 'em for Muamba!

I honestly did pray for Muamba, Not just tweeted a pointless hashtag but actually did.

I'd consider prayer just as pointless as collective will

Its only been sensationalised dependendant on your own point of view. Just because you feel it has, doesn' t mean Malcolm down the road does. The people who have been affected when the NHS perform surgery would hopefully show their appreciation and respect in a way suitable to the situation. In fact I know of many who have gone on to try and raise funds for units that have helped themselves or their loved ones.

As a nation we are apparently the eighth "best" at giving to charity, so obviously some people give those dieing a thought at some time. But as you say someone dies every second, If people thought of nothing but those who passed on then nothing would get done.

Whilst (i hope anyway!) everyone knows death is a fact of life, we are not all completely desensitized (going off the definition " To render insensitive or less sensitive" anyway)

The press coverage is only excessive if you follow it. I myself have been busy with work, life and working on my CV (which i have been supposed to have been doing these last 10 hours and have got nowhere with), and must say I have appreciated up to date information, even as a non Bolton fan. There is little need for a 24 hour news channel (or however many you get on Sky these days) and even less need for a 24 hour Sports news channel, but if you choose to watch them don't be surprised to see news regarding Muambas health pop up as breaking news.

Whilst I can personally see you point about modern day footballers having no relationship with the fans I still feel this is a masssive generalisation. Just because I feel no great feelings towards Martin Olsson doesn't mean someone else might want his babies

As a software developer I wouldn't expect my team to stop and have a minutes applause if, I dunno, Bill Gates nearly died. But if someone who we worked suffered from something similar I certainly wouldn't object to people showing their support in a reasonable manner.

Errr, so to conclude, it's a non optional social convention... get over it.

I can kinda see both sides with Muamba. The people who had an emotional attachment to him before the heart attack (so his family, friends, everyone at Bolton), have every right to emphasise its importance. The people who didn't (everyone else), well I suppose its whether you think they are genuinely upset or are jumping on the bandwagon to make themselves look good.

I think most aren't genuinely upset and wouldn't still be thinking about Muamba in 6 months or a year if he had died. To me most see a fashionable cause, see an opportunity to show how nice and caring they are, and jump on it.

It's a pretty sinister person who jumps onto a sadness bandwagon, I doubt there are many people who are actually like that. If people show concern for something, you should take it as face value, you dont know whether they are genuine or not. Take all the players across the world wearing shirts of support, is that because the players are horrified and want to show support in anyway possible to someone in their profession? Or in a rather cynical view, is it a way for that club to gain good publicity?

Not out of the question it is both..

But it depends on your outlook on things.
