messiah i am going to have to take issue with your team.

bale parker sandro modric

???? that looks like the same midfield positioning that we all criticized Harry for at Everton away.. even the media noticed it and they dont have a clue.

Modric and Bale are our two best players... play them in their best positions.

Chelsea will have Bosingwa right back so why would Bale be moved over to the right to go up against Ashley Cole?

Also chelsea's centre mid is their weak area, so why would you move our best CM from there to left wing?

Harry will not go with the midfield in your article. No way.

Is that what you'd pick or what you think he'll pick?

Lately theres not many games where hes lined out with a predictable team?

thats both what i would pick and what i think he will pick.

as long as he doesnt go 4 4 2 then should be ok.

if he goes 4-4-2 it will be an arsenal all over again and we will lose heavily

hmmmmmm you've more faith in Harry than I do Chronic

It's GOT to be 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 or we'll get beat I reckon.

I'd like to see either Sandro or Livermore in, preferably at the expense of Parker (who has been a bit poor by his own high standards imo). For me it's the risk of a bit of naive youthful exuberance with a chance of something unexpected (the youngsters) rather than 'old steady' who will do a solid if unspectacular or game-changing job.

And I'm getting a bit sick of dominating possession with long, slow build ups, but without really looking like we're going to break through (Modric and Parker). Oh, for Hudd back, when one beautifully-weighted pass to one of the wingers or through the middle would slice the other team straight open

If Ade's not fit I expect to see Saha tomorrow rather than Defoe (alas). What I think Harry will go for (defence picks itself):

VDV - Sandro - Modric - Parker - Bale

Ade/Saha

I'd go for Livermore (has momentum this season, and always looks hungry even if he is still finding his role) instead of Sandro (has looked lost to me recently, don't think Harry really knows how to play him), and definitely Defoe ahead of Saha.

I`d play 3 5 2 with Walker and Bale as wing backs and assuming Ledley and Ade are fit...

Brad

Leds Kaboul Gallarse

Walker Bale

Sandro Modric Parker

VDV

Adebayor

we were 2-2 with them in the first hald with 4-4-2

we lost the seond half 3-0 after he stiffened/slowed it up with sandro and parker in the middle.

sandro/parker does not work for us based on the times they have played togethor so far. even harry will have worked that out by now, and i cant sim him trying it again.

Saha looked disappointing on Wednesday.

If we played the team as above, from stevetheyid, I'd be happy enough, but we don't want to rush Ade back if he's not fit.

Defoe definitely deserves a chance, Kranjcar and Gio do not. Maybe bring on Danny Rose at some point if Bale decides he wants to play on the right (or the middle for that matter)!

Not sure Stamford bridge is the place to start experimenting. We tried that formation at Stevenage away and were outplayed FFs. Absolutely baffling that you want to try that randomly in Chelsea away

Yes 2 2 but lucky to be not losing heavily. Even when we were 2 0 up I wasn't sure how we were not losing. When do u ever see teams play 4 4 2 away at big teams and get points. Never. United never do. City don't. Chelsea and arsenal don't. If we play 4 4 2 we will get put away. Not sure why people can't see this. Our best area is midfield and Chelsea worst area is midfield. So we basically be going with one less in there sacrifice that advantage. I hope Harry has learnt from his mistakes at the emirates

Mr Neutral here with my two pennyworth.

It seems to me the continual chopping and changing of the back four every other game is hurting Spurs badly. Surely if Ledley King cannot play two successive games then it has to be time to leave him out for good. At this time of the season a settled back four is an absolute essential ingredient of any successful side. And Harry as an experienced manager should know that it is an absolutely fundamental rule to get the defence sorted first.

i wouldnt disagree with that.

we DID get stuffed in the 2nd half though. our midfield was also dominated by chelsea at the lane when we played sandro and parker.

i just dont see why it would work if we tried it again ?

i would rather modric played in the middle with instructions to work hard defensively.

Sandro and Parker were too immobile against a pacey arsenal side. Chelsea are a much slower more physical outfit

====================

i think he does. that's why he has told the team not to foul anyone

we havent really been changing the back 4 though thats the thing. the full backs have played almost every game and most games the centre backs have been king and kaboul. the trouble is that noone seems to know what their role is, the positioning's bad, the reading of the game's bad, the centre backs arent closing anyone down or picking anyone up and they're too slow. apart from that, there's not been a problem.

Harry has just lost focus and this has gone through to the players. Simple. That's why the same back 6 inc parker at dm we have had all season suddenly look shocking

Maybe in the league games, but Harry must have changed the two central defenders every game for the past half a dozen including cup games. Not good. The season is now coming to the boil, and the same team needs to take to the pitch where possible whether league or cup. Just my opinion though.
