14, wtf, is he on the smokes again. IMO you have to have the technique much younger than that.

I'd technique when I was a fetus but wenger wasn't scouting my hospital at the time

How Wenger picked Walcott ahead of Bale in Southampton is still beyond me. Was willing to spend 12m pounds on Walcott but couldn't pay around the same price when he had the chance to sign Ronaldo.

In all honesty Walcott loked the real deal at Southampton. Talent wise he seemed similar to Ronaldo at 17. But Ronaldo had stronger mentality, improved on his technique. Whereas Theo went completley backwards. His technique got worse every yr. As if tgats possible.

Because hindsight makes you a superior judge of potential than Arsene Wenger, clearly

i think sometimes Wenger gets a bit influenced by the media, remember Jeffers, Wright (goal keeper) and of course Theodore, all meant to be the best of the best lol

Come on Gervinho has got technique, he just isn't very good at scoring . Every manager makes mistakes with signings, Fergie turned down Zidane and got outbid for Ronaldinho.

Oh and Reyes, Arsene had the right player for the right price. He was gonna be great but he got homesick................flippin' homesick!!!!!!

Yet we have Walcott & Gervinho strutting their stuff.

How is technique going to get worse? Never seen it happen.
You either have it, or you don't. Walcott clearly didn't/doesn't.

absolutely, Theodore will never have much technique it's not in his DNA but his fast and that's the strength he and a team have to play to. if you don't as a team then he will just go anonymous in games which we have seen.

Theo's final ball is a lot better to be fair, he's never going to have great technique or be world class IMO but on his day he can be quality just needs to be consistent.

Well it seems it has got worse. Maybe it because he hasn't got mental strength. Maybe in training he does some next skill and in a match he can't control a simple pass.

I don't know. But young fast, strong players seem to be the deal. Then when they hit 20/21 they get found out if they really are what they were supposed to be.

Walcott never had technique. A shame really. As he could have become some player.

His searing pace makes him useful to have around though.

Still on slating Walcott!? He's been great recently, can always win you a game, which is invaluable.

No one's slating him. He doesn't have technique. Nothing but the honest truth.

Theo does have technique. His finishing and crossing have shown improvement this season. His final ball is much better.

Since he has had a proper full back on his side he has looked much better, coincidence? I think not.

And Gervinho? Don't make me laugh, he can't finish but he does have technique.

Walcott has had so much stick this season, but without him where would we be? The way some of our fans reacted to Gervinho coming on against Everton was pathetic, and he played well in that game!

Walcott always had decent finishing ability (when he doesn't lose his composure).

And yes, I agree. He has improved his final ball, and whatnot.

But that's not all there is to football, as you know. His touch and general ball control is below par.

Gervinho is a strange one. He can beat 3-4 people in a row. Yet he doesn't seem to have the ball under full control.

Terrible technique for the goal from Walcott.

You muppets, technique isn't inherited, nor is it in your DNA

posted on 24/3/12

It isn't inherited, I agree.

But some people are just more talented in a field, whether that be basketball, tennis, or being a surgeon.

Walcott isn't the most talented of players. Still very useful.
