Agger and Johnson won't be pleased.
Play both Carroll and Suarez for the remainder.
We win when Carroll starts and it will be better for next season to develop an understanding now.
Has anyone checked that we may have won whenever Agger started in the same time period
agger and johnson are injured but if they return which im sure they are close to then i would just rotate
remember a week or so ago when our youth got battered 6-0?
People always have a tendency to revert to youth when things are going bad, but it is not always a sensible solution. Leave it to the people that watch both the senior and youth players week in week out

I think that we've got to be looking past Carroll being a starter if we want to improve properly next season.
He's a passenger in terms of general play, and whilst you can say that about a lot of number 9s, he doesn't occupy defenders with pace or clever runs. It's like being a man down unless you want to toss cross after cross in, and even then his conversion rate is woeful.
I still don't understand how, when so many players have struggled, Maxi hasn't been allowed a run to try and recreate the spark that himself, Suarez and Kuyt had last season. He's not had many opportunities, but has still sunk Chelsea twice, scored against Blackburn and set up Suarez against Stoke.
I wouldn't start Sterling, but I'd certainly give him more substitute appearances.
Agreed in Maxi and Sterling
But Carroll was looking very good in late Jan/Feb
then he got dropped
I still don't get it.
Carroll was never looking good... he was looking average at best
When are we signing some of those? I'm sure the transfer window doesn't open again until summer
I mean the likes of Riena....
I'm all for giving the youngsters a run out for 20 to 30 mins, especially Sterling, but I think that more than one at a time in a game would be asking too much of them.
Sterling should start, his direct player and has an end product and is better than downing
wheres the reserve keeper?

Hm Doc, my humble opinion is: stick with Carroll as a starter for the remainder of this season. Dropping him now will not help us improve next season, far from it. For the simple reason nobody in the current team can be expected to play in his position next season.
Let us pray for a miracle, and the Carroll / Suarez / Gerrard link starting to click suddenly. And if that doesn't happen (and let's face it, I don't have high hopes for the short term), we will have to spend the dosh on a new striker anyway in the summer.
Cup Team. It'd be nice to win The Cup and maybe a bit of experience is needed but, as they're 'tired' they can rest for the league games.
Reina,
Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique,
Spearing,
Kuyt, Gerrard, Bellamy
Suarez
Carroll
subs : Some keeper, Kelly, Flanagan, Coates, Maxi, Henderson, Sterling
League Team. It doesn't matter if we finish 7th or 12th so give the kids a run with a bit of experience to keep things calm.
Reina,
Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Robinson
Sterling, Henderson, Adam, Downing
Suarez
Carroll
subs: Some other keeper, Flanagan, Skrtel, Aurelio, Shelvey, Coady, Kuyt
Carroll and Suarez need to start every game together if they're ever going to click.
>>Carroll / Suarez / Gerrard link
does anyone know how many matches they've started together?
I think it's less than a handful

It's about that. And I think both Suarez and Carroll would benefit greatly if Gerrard would play in a more forward role, directly behind the 2 of 'm (well, indeed who wouldn't for that matter ?), and NOT Gerrard just in front of the defense.
My formation for the next few games would be a 4-3-1-2.
Reina,
Jonhson / Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique
Bellamy / Kuyt, Henderson, Downing
Gerrard
Suarez, Carrol
I was toying with the idea of Taras Bulba, by giving a lot of the talent play time.
But I think it's most important to get Henderson, Downing and Carroll performing with an eye on next season. And I don't think that's going to happen with a lot of talent in the squad.
Totally agree, been saying this for a while.
