BB how could you doubt the Irish? He's got the old Irish luck with him now, Evans is top class.

I think it was just a rant at the time of the game in fairness, as far as I can remember I always defended him, I remember the 15 (was it 15) clean sheets in row with Evans and Vidic playing togeather for most of it.
fair play lambsy, sounds about right.
It was a horrible day so I understand why you was ranting, but would you have expected 5 months later United would be leading the league table by 3 points?
in fairness, when united were founded as newton heath fc, the area of newton heath was also not in manchester, though it was annexed whilst we were playing there, whereas west gorton was never part of manchester whilst city were there. basically, city had to move into manchester having been founded elsewhere and were forced to ask newton heath fc's permission as there were fears that two clubs in the same city could negative effects on our crowds, but being the good citizens we are we let them in anyway. a further point, the only football team ever founded within the actual boundaries of manchester were manchester central.
The modern day footballer is a fickle man who thinks their team should be winning every single game without ever making a mistake and scoring 5 goals minimum per game.
I blame Messi, people see him and don't understand why others can't do the same.
As United fans we should realise how good we've had it over the past 20 years and get behind our players.
Thanks for the history lessons

Nope, I actually thought City were just to good, but when I watched the game back, I think I realised we just collapsed.
Perhaps it's part of the reason Fergy doesn't like to play young players so much nowadays.
back to the original topic, i was speaking to an everton supporting mate today who said that darron gibson makes them tick and that his passing is nothing short of excellent. make of that what you will.
whats strange is how well we are doing when we have a lot of positions filled with young and inexperienced players.
I thought this would really be a season of transition possibly finishing 2nd or 3rd but we have done so well in the league.
We should realise how good we've had it and also I remember the seasons when we've had the title wrapped up by Easter and believe me the thrill is not the same!
Gibson was another who was hunted out by the fans, did a solid job really. Sometimes it genuinely is because he isnt from spain/portugal/argentina etc..
Darren Gibson always looked like a composed and assured player, could put him on the pitch with no worries, similar to John O'Shea; the problem in the eyes of some though seemed to be that he was no Ronaldo!!!
I didn't want Berbatov in the team before and still don't now. He doesn't have a big game mentality and to bring him in for crunch fixtures at this time in the season would be suicidal. Add in the way he slows the game down to walking pace by taking 6 touches when one would suffice, and I am quite happy to see us stick with the players who have been playing regularly.
Gibson is average, he might make himself a good player for Everton, but he was never good enough for Utd. Sir Alex seems to have agreed. I don't think he liked the pressure.
Wish him all the best though, his goal vs City will live long in the memory
Has he played much for Everton though? I thought Fellini and Nevilly generally played the middle positions?

Neville plays in the fullback position, Gibson and Fellaini are in the central midfield now and they seem to have gelled rather quickly too. The game yesterday showed how much they compliment each other

I see, haven't even noticed him on motd in fairness, can't be a bad thing.
He's been injured for a few weeks, yesterday was his first game back.
MSS i agree with you, i don't think he is the the right player for united. I dont have a problem with fans that dislike our players.
It's the ones that judge so quickly, and then do a U-turn 6 months later.
They fall for whatever the media write.

disagree mate, Gibson was never united standard.
Sure he scored a few crackers from distance, but then again anytime he picked the ball up within 30 yards he would shoot.
