Leeds must be older than that.
Maybe they could give this a try:

HistoryRepeating, I thought the same.
1919 is late for a club to be established. Was there a fore-runner to Leeds United or something?
Arsenal release a "special edition" shirt for every occasion possible so I don't see why Leeds won't for the centurion celebrations.

There was Leeds City before Leeds United who were kicked out of the league for something other clubs, including Man U got off lightly with, so nothings changed really!

Maybe bates will bring out an emperors new clothes edition.
West Yorkshire was and to some extent still is a Cricket and Rugby county.
Leeds City were the original team founded in 1904 and entered the FL in 1905 the same year as Chelsea. They joined the then 2nd division.
City became successful during the war years under the management of one Herbert Chapman, he of Arsenal fame. However in 1919 they were found guilty of illegal payments and thrown out of FL, 8 games into the season. Port Vale took over their spot in the league including their points etc.
Chapman was banned for life but appealed and ended up at Arsenal.
The remnants of Leeds City were auctioned off by the FL. On the day of the auction a meetingbof supporters created Leeds United. They re-enteted the FL in 1920.

Leeds United played their first game in 1919, some people need to learn the history of the club they follow.
WW,
Leeds United were formed in 1919, but were elected to the Football League in 1920.
PD, he will argue he is right. You should be aware WW is the all seeing oracle.
Well, to be even more specific, Leeds City were formed in 1904, went out of business on the 17th of October 1919 and Leeds United were formed that same afternoon before being elected to Division Two the following season.
PD, to be even more specific.
Ken Bates was to blame for the demise of Leeds City.
PD, didn't I just say that?
I just hope we don't bring out some kind of Huddersfield-esque blue and white striped kit in 2019.
Sorry GBG, didn't see that.
You never know (if bates is still around in 7 years time) since it will be our centenary year he might reduce ticket prices for that season
PD, if you knew the history of your club more you'd know the Chairman of Huddersfield wanted to move them to Leeds at one point after United was formed due to lack of support from their fans. It never happened though as the fans actually started to protest at this point.
I think that the kit for that season should just be plain white no other colours because thats how people remember leeds united.
No sponsors name on the front that could be on the training kit or warm up kit.
I already knew that, Cas, hence my Huddersfield comment.
Cas, also Chapman went to Huddersfield after Leeds City, was very succesful there before going to Arsenal.
PD,
Do you think we'll get reduced ST's for the celebrations, ie £100 off?
On the kit issue, I think the 'home's kit should be the usual White with blue and yellow trim, but the away kit should reflect part of the history. Not sure what the colours were in 1919/1920.
Seems the first Leeds United kit was Blue & White stripes, white shorts and black socks. Think I prefer the blue and yellow halves, white shorts and blue socks from 1934 era.
Not sure what the colours were in 1919/1920.
black and white from what i've seen on the telly!
Colours were white and blue back then, similar to Huddersfields, then we realised that, and ran a mile and got rid of it
Nah if Bates is around in 2017 he'll increase the ticket prices by 10% for each year we've been around.
