I think at this stage of the season it doesnt really matter who you play.

The most sensible thing anybody has said on this thread

Our last 8 games had hard fixtures (Liverpool away, where they were unbeaten) Spurs (who were 10 points ahead of us) Everton (who had just beaten Spurs) etc.

We won 7 lost 1.

Spurs had an easy run-in in 2006, West Ham, and managed to mess it up. And that was only a one game run-in!!

I remember two seasons back when the title was between Arsenal, Chelsea and United. Arsenal were supposed to have the easiest fixture while Chelsea had the hardest. Who ended in 3rd and who ended up being Champions scoring 103 goals in the process?

The bottom line is the team that hits form from now until the end of season will be playing CL next season, and that includes Newcastle.

It will be squeeky bu////m time for all and sundry.

Spurs had an easy run-in in 2006,

Sorry mate, but what has 2006 to do with 2012. You have lost me completely now.

It`s about the last 7 games of the season now, and whoever picks up the most points gets CL, simple as

You don't sound very neutral at all. City look nervous and will have no aguero so as I said, I'd be more worried about stoke

Anyone could drop points away from home.

IMO we will beat City and Chelsea AT HOME (especially as city are off form and chlesea have other distractions)

Just highlighting that so called easy run-ins throw up obstacles...

"The future can predicted by the past"

Indeed.
Although April 2010 and 2011 tell us a lot more than 2006.

Now this is a bit silly of course being an arsenal fan you think you will win every game, being a spurs fan I can see us winning every game, I bet we dont though.

And both show Arsenal finishing above Spurs...

And didn't Spurs bottle it last season, in their challenge for top 4, defeat at City and draw at home v soon to be relegated Blackpool??

And lets not forget, no-one is saying Arsenal have an easy run-in.
The OP says Spurs DO have an easy run-in, so I guess he feels 24 points is likely...

Some of them are saying Spurs DO NOT have an easier run-in

Verminator05 "Spurs don't have an easy run-in imo"

Mynameis: "Easy run-in in definitely the most stupid thing I have ever heard. "

Neither quotes back up the previous statement, btw. Both say Spurs do not have an easy run-in, but neither compare it to Arsenals...

It really doesnt matter who has the 'tougher fixtures' at this stage of the season. On paper, city would have beaten sunderland yesterday, we would've got something at qpr.

Last week, swansea strong at home, everton not prolific away resulted in an away win. liverpool lost at home to wigan (this one not so much of a shock).

So to summarise, it doesnt matter who is playing who this is just another excuse for people to argue about who is better than who etc etc.

Best of luck in your run in, naturally i will be rooting for whoever plays spurs be it a 'hard' team or a 'weak' one

I would say every one of the games between now and the end of the season is a potential banana skin, but the run-ins are not even:
From the fiercely competative relegation strugglers: Arsenal have to play 2 teams in the bottom five, we have to play 3
At the top of the table Arsenal have to play a team fighting to win the league and one competing for a top four slot, we dont play anyone above 9th
We do however have an extra game with the FA cup semi

all in all ours is preferable - but as i say, anyone of them is a potential slip up, although in Arsenals case, losing to a team above you (Man City) isnt a slip up, its expected

Dont agree that it does not matter who you play

Look at our bad run against the top teams .. yes i know teams at the bottom are fighting relegation but they are at the bottom for a reason.. they are not very good .. I would not change our run in for anyone elses and if your saying you would be just as happy having to play Chelsea Man city and stoke then i dont believe you

posted on 1/4/12

Spurs are the current form team though, unbeaten in ONE, Arsenal are on a losing run of ONE.

posted on 1/4/12

I reckon Spurs hardest game is Sunderland away, but it just happens to fall on the same day Arsenal are playing a team chasing the title. So even if Spurs were to lose, there is no guarantee Arsenal will win, and they will still have to play some hard fixtures until the end of the season.

Sandy, today i go with the adage "you are only as good as your last game"
although next week i might go with another adage

It's not about who you play at this stage, it's about what form they're in and whether or not they're fighting for something.

However, having your own momentum is critical also and Spurs played well today and have their best players back and on form, so you have good cause to be optimistic.

After losing yesterday, we have to lift our game against City although it's a big advantage for us to be playing at home.
