"But pace and power are bad things, no decent footballer would rely on those."

Ooohoohoohoo. See what you did there. Clever laddy.

Adebayor has easily got the best first touch in the league.

When have I been really biased then?

Taken me ages to work that round. So we're all agreed Valencia is the best winger in the known universe and pace and power are good things. Night all.

Granted, I can exaggerate my opinions a little, but seriously, Berbatov and Balotelli are not as technically gifted as van Persie. It's not even a close contest.

-----

I didn't say either of them 2, I said Aguero, Tevez and Suarez. And in fact when on form Torres too. I think they all possess more technical ability overall than RVP.

?

Is my leg being pulled here? Can never tell if Saint's being serious or not.

I do not recall saying this.

Bit difficult to compare them at the moment anyway seeing as Wilshere's only had one full season with Arsenal - let's see how much the injury has affected him when he gets back to match fitness.

Anyway, for the record, I do not think Wilshere will score as many goals as Lampard in his career and I doubt he'll get as many assists. But he's a great talent to watch.

Sorry, was thinking about Thunderkiss's ludicrous opinion.

Tevez is very quick and is powerful, but technically, I wouldn't say he's all that.

Aguero is pretty good technically, but still wouldn't rate him as highly as van Persie.

Suarez - dribbling yes, but in all other aspects, van Persie is better.

I came back to read some of the comments and had to add a facepalm.

Valencia is the best winger in the league at the moment. No, he's not the most talented player in the world, but he's effective and better yet, he's consistent. Most top players in England lack consistency.

He's not the most technically gifted player, but his technique isn't necessarily bad. He does the basics very well.

He may not be the best winger in the league in terms of talent, but in terms of consistency and effectiveness, he's certainly right up there. Nani and Bale are far more talented than him.

Kamran, 3 paragraphs that say exactly the same thing

You obviously can't read then.

"It's exactly the same. There are more talented strikers than Van Persie. Ibrahimovic, Balotelli, Robinho, Berbatov, Neymar all better with the ball (not even counting Messi and Ronaldo.) "

Van persie is the prem's most overrated player since fabregas, another player who drifted in and out of seasons.

Is there a competition on here, as to who is the dumbest Manc?

Alexis Sanches or Antonio Valencia?
-----------
If he plays like he did tonight and at the bridge Valencia every time.

So you pop up after one game? I hate these knee jerk pests.

Look. Sanchez did well to even play passes in and around the box. Even setting up Messi on few occasions.

Obviously stuff like that goes over your head.

Chelsea had their whole team behind the ball. WTF would Valencia do?

Come back when you gain some insight on football. Which is most likely never.

So fade away into nothingness please.

So now you're basically saying you've never watched Valencia. He'd do what Barca should have and actually got round the full back. They didn't use the wings at all, it was ridiculous. The one time they did use the right wing properly they scored, it was offside but at least Alves tried.

If you don't think a player that gets to the byline as often as Valencia does would have helped it might be you that's lacking insight. Both Sanchez and Cuenca were poor imitations of wingers last night.

He did well to play passes in and around the box? Barca had the ball on the edge of the Chelsea box for 45 minutes second half, yet managed about 4 shots. Why didn't this amazing 30+ million pound player shoot? He gets a great chance to score and closes his eyes when he headed it. I'd take Valencia every time over that.

Oh look what I stumbled across here.
Some absolutely pathetic comments on here.

Glad to see I was proven right on the Valencia point. An average player at best.

This is the best of the lot though:

"It's exactly the same. There are more talented strikers than Van Persie. Ibrahimovic, Balotelli, Robinho, Berbatov, Neymar all better with the ball (not even counting Messi and Ronaldo.) There are countless strikers better in the air and there are countless strikers that are quicker but they're not as effective as Van Persie has been this season"

And now the very same guys think he's the best in the world.
Oh how things change quickly.

Christ are you really still wound up after a year? WOUND UP

posted on 18/5/13

Hardly wound up. Just cringing at these comments by these people.

Yours was the cream of the crop though.

posted on 18/5/13

What's cringeworthy is going back through a year of comments to defend a player that has flopped massively at Barca.

seething for a whole year, not wound up at all

posted on 18/5/13

Huh? What are you on about?

posted on 18/5/13

Ah Sanchez? Not here to defend him.
Just came across this thread and shook my head in disbelief at the nonsense posted on here.

Respect for showing up though even though you embarrassed yourself on here.

posted on 18/5/13

You don't need to look back a whole year to find me embarrassing myself.

Still at least I never claimed Cazorla was the best player in the Premier League. Now that was a ridiculous claim
