Maybe utd just didn't have that much disposable income for a player with potential only. Or perhaps he wanted games and couldn't be guaranteed that with utd compared with us.
I'm not sure what your point is though. What is the point to debate here? And is your point solely on your dad's opinion?
I like this article.
Knowing that they are more interested in Rodwell, probably shows that Henderson really doesn't have enough potential to be a top player.
I'm pretty sure they did bid for him, but we offered more money.
Henderson is too good for united
Ham Shankly -
It weren't my Dad's opinion - it was off a phone in on LFCTV. And the point is that if Henderson was going to be a world class player United would surely have gone in for him?
There is no way they didn't offer 'enough money' because while we were signing Henderson they were selling Brown, O'Shea etc.
Also they allowed Welbeck on loan and sold Campbell too.
United looked at Rodwell and Henderson for a long time but opted for Phil Jones a he can play in more positions.
As has already been stated they went in for him but he preferred our offer.
I dont want to be rude, but aside from maybe a larger pay packet there is nothing to draw a player to a club like Liverpool, than a club like Utd

You really need to put this way of thinking to bed. United had enough disposable income to sign a player SAF hadn't seen play for gods sake.
The likely reason United were not intrested in Henderson is that we already have Cleverley.
Perhaps it is a family trait to chat sh1 te.
I have seen Henderson play countless first time through balls only for the chances to be squandered. He is athletic, composed and plays with his head up. Only thing he lacks os belief/aggression.
A players worth is not measured by Manchester United's interest in them. They will buy the finished article.
In two or three seasons he will be dominating games.
Ahhh right. Sorry, I see.
It is a good point but to say the utd scouts have never ever failed to spot a potential star is a bit far fetched. Sure they are in a privallaged position to have first refusal but just because they didn't sign him up doesn't mean he is a waste of space.
Time will tell I suppose...

There was nothing to indicate we went for Henderson other than gossip collumns.
I feel sorry for the OP, he was just trying to raise a point about a player and gets absolutely slated for having an opinion.

Very rarely do United buy the finished article, what the hell are you smoking?

Read the article again - the point was raised on LFCTV.
My Dad did not agree with the point - he just thought it was worth thinking about.
Again, if you read the article - at the very end I typed 'it's certainly a talking point' - thus SURELY implying that I don't fully agree with it, but do believe that it has it's strengths within.
Or maybe it's a family trait to not be able to read?
Oh Vidicschin I remember you well.
Due to the age of Goggs and Scholes United do not have time to develop a midfielder to run their midfield whilst City and Chelsea will be buying big. We are playing catch up, United are in the lead. We know as much as anybody you drop off it's hard to get back in. Snooze you lose.
Point stands a player's worth is not measured by Manchester United's interest.
I don't smoke. I have, however, just ingested 5 magic mushrooms. Woah look at them lights.................
I saw that discussion.
But tell your Dad there is a huge flaw in the logic.
If we're only going to go for players that United are interested in, and by the self-same logic, "United are a lot more appealing to anybody".....
How are we going to buy any players?
This guy is not a Liverpool fan, don't be sucked in.
Look at his profile, does it remind you of anyone?

All players Man U didn't sign, just because Man U didn't sign a player doesn't make them bad, what a retar-ded statement.

Read the article again.
Do United have close links with:
Southampton, Athletico Madrid, Valencia?
NO - BUT THEY DO WITH SUNDERLAND!
So my point is - if Henderson was as special as we are all hoping, they would have had first refusal.
FFS - why does nobody choose to read the bloody article.
