Clean sheet maybe to stand a chance?

posted on 5/4/12

If they want to progress they need at least 3 goals at the bridge with a clean sheet. Then try get an away goal at the Nou Camp and park the bus after because that's the best they can do there.

You don't have to keep a clean sheet, just score more than them.

Is Luiz even capable of parking the bus?
Unless literally parking a bus outside the ground while the rest of his team defend a set-piece

I doubt we can beat them over two legs.

Torres or Drogba to start?

We could adopt the Liverpool formation of a flat back 10

You won't beat them at the Nou Camp, the refs literally are taken over by Catalan aliens and Barcelona then get majority of the decisions. Plus their idiotic whistling fans won't help the situation too, away from home Barca have been caught out and Milan could have got a few goals had Zlatan and Robinho been clinical enough. But on their turf, I think only Madrid can get a result there.

Obviously Barca are the favourites. but our advantage (with current Chelsea) could be our physical strength. Barca arn't tall or nor they are physically strong.
If we manage to bully them, we could have a fair chance. But we need to win at home and away.

At the end of the day it's 11 vs 11.

Both. Keep their defenders busy.

I think Chelsea will win over the two legs. They'll get a 1-1 draw at home and 0-0 at Barca.

This.

They're only human. Ignore the media hype.

I can't say I wish Chelsea well, but I think they have done a fine job to still be in the competition. Di Matteo deserves a crack at the job full time.

Against Barca anything can happen but unless Chelsea get a lucky break Chelseas defines isn't strong enough to keep Barca out.

Probably wont be by the end though, i guarantee at least one Chelsea red card over the two legs

As a player and a man you cant go into competition thinking you cannot win i firmly believe the Chelsea players feel they can win and yes we may be underdogs but every dog can have its day. i think 4-5-1 will be the best formation with Mikel and Essien basically holding and then leaving Lampard Mata and Ram to support Drogba

Set piece's

Corners free kicks anythng we can get Terry, Ivan, Cahill and Drogba into the box for.

we al know they will have 70% of the possession we just need that possession in front of our defence, same as the last semi in 09

Sorry, but the current Chelsea side are nowhere near good enough to beat Barca over 2 legs.

They've done really well getting to the semis & hats off to Matteo for that, but this fixture is a step too far. They could get a mullering at the Nou Camp.

Of course we're not good enough Toblerone but Everton werent good enough to beat City and they did. Luckily games arent played on paper

Saying that. anyone saying we've got a chance to win because we stopped them scoring in 2009 is a bit deluded if you ask me. Our team has declined heavily since then while Barcelona's has improved ten fold.

Mr Chelsea - off course you've got a chance, but would I have any money on it? Not a chance mate.

I'll be putting a bet on Chelsea and Bayern to reach the final. I believe it will happen and I'm guessing the odds will be good. Depending on that, I'll be sticking a bet on it.

Chelsea have done well to get this far, and deserve a lot of credit.
But Im afraid this current Barcelona side are way too strong for Chelsea.
This game will probably be over after the first leg at stamford bridge.
I can see Barcelona scoring 3 or 4 at the bridge, and then god knows what at the nou camp.
As I said, well done for getting this far, but I see nothing but a heavy defeat when they come up against probably the best club side the world has seen in many years, regardless of whoever plays for chelsea, and what formation they adopt.
Benfica pretty much gave chelsea the run around last night, without having the ability to apply a finishing touch.
Barcelona will have no problems doing either.
I think if chelsea can keep Barcelona from scoring 5 or 6 over the two legs, they will have done well.
Anyway, good luck, because I think you might just need it.
