Yes you may be right but it is that next step that is the all important difference. Moyes, Redknapp, O'Neill....all fall into the same 'decent manager' bracket. They have their good seasons but you don't see Barca or Madrid or Milan or Juve knocking their door down when they have a vacancy.
Being Liverpool manager is a top class job and we need a top class man. I still say Rafa is that man. Look at his record ...and I mean the tangible stuff, i.e. trophies not just media tittle tattle. Rafa with board backing and we would threaten again very quickly.

Rafa would be welcomed by me as well however I do fear going back to a previous manager has just failed and would be a major rick by the owners one I can not see them taking..
On the other point again I feel you need to take the red tinted glasses off mate. Liverpool are no longer at that level and need to first get back into the CL. Moyes is untried with massive resources for example and at a big club with money to spend who knows how he would do, Redknapp actually took Spurs from relegation fodder to a CL spot and O'Neill again has not had resources like that of Liverpool at his disposal however is proved he improves every club he manages. Just remember this Alex Ferguson managed East Striling, St Mirren then Aberdeen before Man United....

It might help if you actually read the comments before talking Barry White
I agreed with Bungee 9 when he said that 5th or 6th looked like MON limit
I labelled Ncastle, Spurs Also Ran clubs for the way their fans have give it large on here
You then pointed out MON has won cups, i then hit you with the damning facts that it was for Celtic
I am astounded by your comments about KK /Comolli ..and i should not have a go at clubs they have worked for
I am lost for words to be honest , your comments are absurd, i dont mind being wrong or disagreeing but you Mr Suarez are clueless

It's not hard you are simply slagging off the two clubs who our current management team have previously managed.. And stating that in a future management argument you do not want a manager to their level even though our current set up have come from those two clubs???
And you say I am talking "Barry White"
What also seems to be above your level of intelligence is the sad fact that Newcastle and Spurs are both better than us and sadly by quite some margin and also one is 3rd and the other is 2 points behind? So to belittle them is in fact bizarre??? Especially because if you ask any Liverpool fan right now they would bite your hand off to be in the position Spurs and Newcastle are in!!!!!!!!!!
But what have they won?!??!? Winning and the mentality surrounding it is everything. Moyes normally has Everton looking at the relegation end most years.Like I said...he is OK...no more than that. Redknapp just sucks up to the media and I hate that more than anything. However Livepool could do with the press laying off for a while...Dalglish doesn't help there and neither did Rafa. However I do think Rafa has gone on a charm offensive since Inter in preparation for a new role. He isn't thick...I do believe he will be better in front of the mic and more accommodating in his next job.
Oh My God...somebody please help Suarez_7 on here who wants to swap places with Spurs/Newcastle just because there above us now.
Dont tell me you are one of them butes who goes round after the first game of the season singing we are top of the league...
Do you think Man Utd wanted to swap with Spurs or City when they were trailing them??? No chance.
Please keep these patheTic comments coming and i will continue to give you a public dressing down

Moyes nothing but again football is a risk sport one day if a bigger club takes a risk on him and gives him money to spend then they may well get the rewards it's not unthinkable to suggest he has the potential to do better with more funds...
Rafa is a class manager no doubt however I honestly believe the owners have had their fingers burned employing a coach who has previously managed the club and fully believe they will not take this option..
So just say for example we take Rafa out of the equation, in the current form we are in, our current players, our current credentials who do you think right now in football we can seriously go for?
This is not an easy job as you can see just on this forum many fans believe we should be winning the league and aiming for 1st place. Realistically a club our size should however we are miles off that at a top 4 finnish is the aim but if we stay in this rut any longer then top 6 would be a realistic target but challenge for top four. That sounds awful but looking at our current team and our league form that is actually a more realistic target then winning the league. That means a certain level of manager is actually beyond our reach. We have to accept where we are going to find it tough to appoint a top top manager unfortunately.
Oh My God...somebody please help Suarez_7 on here who wants to swap places with Spurs/Newcastle just because there above us now.

Im sorry are you actually for real? You are honestly saying you would not rather be in the position Spurs and Newcastle are in than the one we are in? Do you still think Torres plays for us and we are in the CL semi final this season or something???
I tell you what Suarez_7, lets all support another team every time they beat us or are above us.
You must be knocking them back, please tell me in your next post that you are bladdered and we can pretend this never happend

Are u actually serious or just plain stupid???
We are mid table and have lots of average players and you are saying you would rather be in that position than 3rd or 5th and challenging for CL???
I think what is wrong with you is your head is up in the clouds and actually if I could have the likes of Bale and Modaric instead of Henderson and Downing then yes I would take them...
If I could have the likes of Cisse and Cabaye instead of Carroll and Henderson yes I would take it.
You really do not realize how bad this Liverpool team are do you? But I was not meaning I want to swap clubs simply I would prefer us to be in the position those two clubs are in at this current time with currently better players and in a more "Liverpool like" league position rather than MID-TABLE!!!
OK Suarez...and this is my last entry...for now.
I still think being manager of Liverpool is one the top half a dozen jobs in world football. I seriously do. Globaly we are huge. OK...on pitch we a pants and have been for a couple of years. But top coaches know the score, know the potential and what it means. 5 times European cup winners and countless domestic titles. IT MEANS SOMETHING. Form and confidence can turn around in a heartbeat as MON has showed at Sunderland (still not the man for us though).
Liverpool are still a top side regardless of where they currenty sit in the table.
Suarez_7 is now changed his argument to what players would i swap, Bale etc
your gunner need a JCB if you plan on digging a bigger whole than the one you already have
nice try on switching tactics knowing your previous commence were embarrassing

Much as I hate to say it, this comment is absolute nonsense and the sooner we fans realize this the better.
The top teams in the world do not count Dalglish, Hodgson, Evans and Souness among their last half dozen manager.
Madrid, Barca, AC and Inter, Juve, Munich, United, City, Chelsea and arguably numerous others are more attractive jobs than ours these days.
We are in a rotten situation where our present manager stinks and we will have a hard tome attracting the worlds best if we were to look elsewhere.
This isn't negativity, just the reality of the situation
Suarez , i commented on your earlier post and said that Martin O.Neil is not big enough for Liverpool.
For me O.Neil could have been an ideal candidate if he was appointed say January. With his experience he most probably would have got you guys 4th place. From there most probably assign someone with CL experience to take you further.
If you at your fixtures list of 2012 , it appears to me that Kenny sold the "easier games ahead " argument to the owners.
If you are to give Kenny an extra year and obviously a transfer kitty (may be 30M) will there be a cut off point where you say after x number of games you need to have y points or you are out ? I think that could be the best solution for both set of fans . Your thoughts .
I'm sorry but if we're justifying a managers class by their records in the SPL then we may as well all give up.
If I managed Celtic, i'd be a successful manager too. Why do you think Gordon Strachan went there? O'neil, had a 50-50 chance of being successful in scotland.
The day we consider ourselves to be a poor club that can't attract names/managers will be the day we wither and die
If Liverpool fans begin to say we're just another club then we truly are done for.
It is embedded into all of us that LFC should be winning everything. It is this expectancy that has rivals laughing but to me, it is a notion that will keep this club going for generations.
We say that we'll be back in the mix, not because we want to, but because we genuinely think we will eventually.
Arrogance... Maybe? But as soon as we lose that hope and drive then we will fade into obscurity. Liverpool fans should never think of Newcastle, Spurs etc as bigger and better clubs.
So what if they have had a better season - the key is to do something about it, not sit back and say they're now better.
