I'm not sure TBH..I can see both sides of the arguement with RDM.
This appointment will be incredibly insightful of both Roman's state of mind and our standing as a force in the eyes of Europe.
Don't think Di Matteo stands a chance, even if he wins the CL. And i, like TBK, can see both sides of any argument he would have to stake a claim for the job but the deciding factor to Abramovich will be his lack of pulling power. If we don't move the old guard on, i'd sign him up as the against argument begins to get strained in that scenario.
Think Klopp stands a decent chance. Blanc and Deschamps both deserve mentions. If Hiddink excuses his release clause at Anzhi he'll likely be a done deal.
The hard lesson with this appointment is unless it's Guardiola or Mourinho, it'll rubber stamp are regression. Each manager to date had a certain "claim to Abramovich" if you like, Mourinho the youngest CL winner, Scolari the WC winner, Ancelotti the CL slayer, AVB the youngest European winner, etc... even a 65 y/o Hiddink would be seen as poor at this stage.

Guys I can also see both sides of the argument and I´m not just getting carried away after a few good results under DiMatteo.
I understand that he lacks experience and that his only other top flight experience was as West Brom manager.
However I believe that the glove fits with DiMatteo at Chelsea.
I´m not saying he´s necessarily the best manager out there although in terms of suitability he fits us about as well as any manager out there.
One thing that the last few years has taught me at Chelsea is that bringing in the biggest or best managers doesn´t necessarily bring success.
Suitability to the club is just as important a factor when bringing in a new manager and in DiMatteo we have a who has a genuine bond with the club and fans and knows the club inside out.
I also think that DiMatteo would happily accept a one year contract that could be renewed every summer.
The last thing I want to do is bring in some big name manager this summer who fails to bond with the players or the fans, gets sacked and then we have to pay him another 20 million over the next 3 or 4 years.
We have to get out of that cycle and DiMatteo offers us a very good opportunity to do just that.
It wont be Jose or Guardiola
Once again the papers doing their rounds trying to guess who it will be.
Petrescu's name will pop up next
Biggish, do you think it will be Jose? Any particular reason?
Well i thiñk after today, City will try añd sigñ him, but my reasoñ why Chelsea wouldgo for him is that they ñeed a guarañtee of CL football.
