Rhodes did have over 20 goals in all competitions if not for his injury i think he would have been up there with lambert and Murray

the other place we need to address is a holding combative centre mid, we really did miss Johnson when he got injured and although Kilbane was a decent replacement he did seem to be a major culprit in ht Hoofball tactics

I like how Gobern wasn't good enough for the Saints team that won promotion last season yet everyone has him in their starting line ups for us next season! If he wasn't good enough for them last season, it's realistic that he might not be good enough for us this season, especially as the league is much tougher.

i am heartened that adkins was very annoyed that gobern left them..he was offered a longer/improved contract by them but came to town.. i assume he thinks he has a much better chance of regular football at town, which bodes well, he wants to play.. they wanted him to stay, its looking a decent signing..

hadnt gobern been injured for 2 years anyway so prob didnt get many chances to stake his claim in starting 11??

I agree them wanting to keep him is a good sign, but apparently they wanted to keep him because he has potential, so he still might not be ready for the first team straight away.

Saints fans having a pop at Adkins for slagging off Gobern. basically they are saying he never got played, and when he did it was just 20 minutes, so hardly suprised he wants to leave so he can gets some games.
They do doubt if he was good enough though, especially for championship, but Adkins must have thought he was to offer him a contract.
Town have already stated the policy is to buy/bring through potential and develop it ...then if need be sell at a big profit.
