Here is another i have watched for about 3yrs now, Brian McDermott of Reading.

Since he came to the club he has done a fantastic job and i am telling you know, we be a fantastic future manager.

I like Lambert too

But would are fans give him the right support ?

It was tough being in the Kop listening to the fans mock Hodgson

He hasnt got the experience to handle the pressure if things went wrong.
Ditto for Rogers

I don't agree with the "he hasn't had the pressure" stance that most people take - it's the same in the job industry. It doesn't mean you can't do the job if given it.

There are some good managers, british managers in Lambert, Rogers and McDermott. Personally i would rather one of these, they are young have plenty of desire and won't cost a fortune.

Lambert has done really well at Norwich.

But let me ask those who want Kenny replaced this; if Lambert comes in and has an average season again, finsihing 6th or 7th, then what? Will you want him sacked too? The way some Liverpool fans react on here, Lambert won't be given a chance either.

To built a team, you need continuity, you need stability and you need some time. Kenny has had the job officially for less than a season. He has a three year contract, and as long as the owners are behind him then we shoud be too.

Real issue is whether Lambert would want to take a sideways step?

Sorry.

By the way, i want KD to stay. I was merely offering suggestions when he moves upstairs in say 3-4yrs i guess.

Why go for lambert or Rodgers, when the likes of Van Gaal are available?

Lambert and Rogers have proved nothing yet.... they first need to keep both their teams in prem and then repeast the feat next season before they might even be considered. The pressure will be different next year. These guys are under a completely different pressure than at Liverpool...also what top players would know/respect them!?

Anfield of Dreams.

It's people like the op with the "I've been watching him for ages now" comments! Yes they're having decent seasons with players who are up for it but like you say, let's see what they do next season!

Liking some of the comments. There's no doubt that Kenny will step 'up' at some point in the future. Who really knows when??

What I do know is that Paul Lambert will be ready. He hasn't disguised his desire to manage at the higher end of the top flight - at a larger club with a tradition of winning competitions. That expectation will be nothing new to a manager who played at Celtic and won the Champion's League with Dortmund.

It's people like some of the posters here who are quick to dismiss as a knee jerk.

Lambert has deliverd for a number of seasons and bulds winning teams.

I'm certain that, if he does stay at Norwich, he'll sustain their position in the top flight. When he does, will he have passed the 'test'????

By the way, I remember when I raised the issue during the dark days of Hodgson there were many who wanted AVB.....

Call me old fashioned but I would like a manager who has won things and can attract top players to a project where the team is not in the CL.

Lambert ain't going to be doing that to my mind.

Robbing_Hoody - couldn't agree more. Need someone with some pedigree, to get the trust of the fans and current players and secondly to attract the quality players to make us a top4 team again. I do feel that some of our fans are following the same patrern as Chelsea fans with their "sack Kenny" stance, we can't keep changing managers - things will get better next season. Just be patient.

I'm definitely not calling for Kenny to step down, just earmarking a worthy successor. Some may doubt Lambert's credentials but they shouldn't. He's a 'proper' manager. Gritty and progressive. Dismiss his achievements so far if you want. I still maintain he would do a job for us. No doubt.
