Statistics prove very little imo, and dont highlight any sort of mitigating circumstances. Our mitigating circumstance is.... for us to create chances, we have to commit men forward, when we do this, we always always always concede. I think this is highlighted in the number of draws this season...i.e we chase a game, and then lose
You lost Sturridge and Elmander and replaced them very poorly.
I think it outlines our lack of threat from centre midfield.
Nothing being created through passing, it's all pass sideways get it outwide and cross, and we're not scoring from crosses. We rarely have all season but we need Mavies to grow a pair and try a forward pass. He can be capable of it if he tries.
Sturridge had more shots in his Loan spell than Ngog has had all season. Sturridge is a better forward, there's no doubt there at all!
Chelsea said they didn't want to loan him again and his price tag was £20m. Imagine how much cheaper he would have been before his 8 goals in 12 games.
How are Bolton financially?
Could they afford to go out and get someone like Steven Fletcher for £6million or £7million?

These instructions clearly come from somewhere
Quite simply were not creating enough big chances. Adebayor nearly has as many misses as we have created. We have to keep the ball on the floor, keep it through the middle, or if we do have it out wide, come inside and pick out a man. Crossing hasn't worked all season.
------------------------------------------------------------------
And this has been so evident in Petrov over the last few games. Whips a cross into an area in the hope of a player getting on the end of it. It can be great if a player happens to be in the right area, but its not working. I've lost count of the number of balls Petrov has whipped in, but if he was to just check back and pick a player out with a cross, at least we would stand the chance of that player actually doing something with it!

Well, it lasted 30 mins before the 'Manager is to blame' brigade arrives to ruin the thread! No more discussion will come from this thread HH. Its making this site pants at the minute.
So what are we to do? Get beat badly and beat in three days lost the advantage we had in a game in hand. Its ok for HH to have bashed mavies and blame him for defeat but not coyle no it's nothing to do with him at all.
The reality is a rubbish team with a rubbish manager in the bottom 6 all season will have fans moaning. It's not like there is nothing to moan about.
If you think debating the merits of the manager is not worth doing then it might be worth taking a double check at the league table.
Jah - look, the above poster IS correct, the instructions come from somewere - the manager... If they dont come from coyle then the players are not listening to him - coyles fault. If they are coming from him, this is also coyles fault im afraid.
Its a valid point...
Well why don't you create your own little article to debate the OC manager thing instead of ruining every single thread you go on! I'm sure you can do it Petrov, you're a big boy now. Go up the page and click on the link 'Create JA606' - its fairly straight forward.
If you think debating the number of chances that the players create is not worth doing then it might be worth YOU taking a double check at the league table.
Coyle is useless and Ngog is a donkey who misses five chances a game.
Life can be so simple.
We can't score goals.
We can't defend.
We don't do draws.
I'm really chuffed!
Only 1 of those 3 comments are factually correct Bricks!!
Trigg: This article has nothing to do with the manager debate. Plus, aren't you getting bored with the OC debate now? A debate which won't be addressed by anyone until we are either a) relegated or b) are safe, so why do it on a thread discussing the players chances missed? Trigg go and create your own article about OC! I am not saying you can't discuss it, its a forum FGS, but create an article to discuss it there! (This really shouldn't be this difficult!).
What's your response to the OP's article Trigg?

.........
but JAH... we ARE discussing the lack of chances created, we are saying the reason for the lack of chances is the amount of useless crosses that come in and why we always have to go down the wings... this im afraid simply HAS to be instructions from coyle or the players not listening to him.
instead of handing out abuse to people who disagree, why dont you give us your theory on why we ruin/waste so many chances?
I myself was getting frustrated with both the Fulham and Newcastle games at the amount of times petrov ran on to a through ball only to get level with the box and have nobody to get on the end of it, get dispossessed or waste it...

Halleluiah! Me TOO!
I lost count of the number of times that he has not found a player with his cross! I know Pratley was close to getting on the end of one of them, but thats just one! Why can't Petrov just check back and look for a player on occasion.
We used to play the ball to feet through the middle and we are missing that play maker. Young Vela would be that player in the absence of Holden, but I think its a season too early for him. It is frustrating!
When you play out and out wingers the instructions always have to be get it out wide then in the box.
This is just not true.. Although he does fluff quite a few, most of Petrov's deliveries are excellent. We've no-one at the moment who really knows how to get on the end of them and finish them.
maybe engineering a system whereby the players didnt have a choice to use the wingers... like a 4--3-1-2 system not really using wingers with a player working in the 'hole' behind the strikers and in front of the 3 central midfielders? question is who? Tuncay seems like a good bet on paper but im actually unsure as to weather he is actually a footballer or not.... im sure he was at some point in his career
it would just take someone with the bottle to try it

Oh and your being a tool again
Mavies (even though he has been useless recently) could be that player. It would require someone taking him aside and showing endless videos of Messi, maybe even hypnotising him (TIC) anything to give him some confidence in front of goal. I would love him to play the 2nd striker position, but drop back when we don't have the ball which would make us into a fluid 4-4-2 with the ball, 4-5-1 when we lose it.
lets not start abusing each other again...
hell, if me and rowbot can politely disagree then the possibilities are endless...
we could halt 3rd world debt, save pompy and rangers and maybe even stop David '2pacshakur' Cameron thinking he is 'down with the yoof of today' ....
What age of children do you teach Petrov?
Agreed trig just shame JAH posted this
