half expected it, but cheers for letting us know.

We have Enrique anyway

Could Kenny spring a surprise and start him? He was playing regularly for Hull before getting injured.

Jones' catch before he gave away the penalty was awful

posted on 11/4/12

To be honest it wasn't a catch. He palmed it infront of himself, but Reina has done it in the past also.

Great prospect and wouldn't be suprised if he played, nothing on the Liverpool site yet.

Maybe we should have done what City did and get an emergency loan and take Gordan from Sunderland?

We were refused the loan, the fa said it can only be activated for injuries not suspensions, fair play to be honest

point here tho, Reina does not palm it to an opponent and bring him down. I think this game is too big for Jones hence why KD refused to mention the GK situation after the game.

I think he was waiting to see if we could have our goalie back, no we have i expect him to play Vs everton.

big blow for 'kit deal' that.

I wonder if it is worth appealing, allowing Doni to play the next game and then he will get an extra 2 games or so which he wouldn't play anyway ?

It's worth appealing

Even if we lose it Reina will be back before the suspension ended anyway

The palm down is usually to take the force off the ball.

Reina does it all the time.

It just didn't work out for Jones

posted on 11/4/12

but it will destroy the confidence of Jones, not that much of a problem considering i don't think he will ever be first choice but not nice all the same

To be fair Jones signed as 3rd choice, he must know the manager will do whats best for the team and Doni and Gulasci are both better players.

He is a professional and should be able to deal with it. If Gulasci wasn't out on loan to get experiance he would arguably be our number 2.

I thought Jones was going when he gave away the pen i couldn't believe it

I rate Gulacsi. He is better than Jones and Doni and will be better than Reina. I hope he starts on Saturady.

I wouldn't blame Jones for Yakubu's dive

posted on 11/4/12

I still think Jones will start the game. Gulasci will be used on the bench.

Regardless of Yakubu diving, Jones firstly flapped at what should have been an easy catch and then pushed the player instead of going after the ball. In fact throughout the game he failed to catch a few tame shots.

>>ones firstly flapped at what should have been an easy catch

agreed

doesn't excuse Yakubu's dive though

Exactly, I remember sitting in the bar, when Bellamy dived and was booked for it. I said to my wife; there was a foul but I agree, the ref shouldn't give the free-kick and should book Bellamy. I think the same should occur throughout football. Suarez and players who draw fouls, then make the most of it, will suffer but it will benefit the game in the long run.

He was second choice at the time we paid for him.
