Morning, Trig.
Nice positive mood again?!
I agree that time is of the essence at the moment and our game in hand is absolutely vital. It will be very interesting to see what Coyle does about the team. Personally, I thought vs Newcastle was our best away performance, that might have something to do with KD being up front.
The results last night weren't ideal, butitdoesn't really change much. We still need to win our game in hand, which was the case before last nights matches kicked off.
For me, it is now 2 from 4 clubs going down. I think Wolves are down. They justdon't look like winning anything. Wigan are on a good run of form, QPR wo last night, but they have the worst run in, so I think they will struggle and Blackburn might be playing decent stuff, but they aren't winning games. As for us, our 3 game winning run has stood us in good stead. I think we can pick up about 5 or 6 points, realistically, for the remainder of the season and hopefully a few more that I haven't predicted to ensure our safety.
It certainlyis squeaky bum time, but I am really looking forward to seeing the new squad next season and still being in the premiership.

good morrow fellow trotterite.
what do you mean.... again?
as always rowbot, as always...

..........
the latter im looking forward to HOPEFULLY, but the squad im not looking forward to seeing...whoever the manager is will again be given peanuts to spend on championship level players...
I understand our financial predicament however, SERIOUS investment is going to be needed IF we dont want a repeat of last season, and the season before that...and the one before that...
it would be great to have a season were i was worrying about the top 10 instead of having 4 extra games to attend the season after...

oh nice, have a poo couple of games, get a free holiday to Dubai!
I dont think the players deserve to be in Dubai, they deserve 8 hour beastings on the training ground including the weekend! forget the softly softly approach!
he is also saying he hopes his 'strike force' return firing on all cylinders... including sordel, WHY... what's the point if your not going to play him coyle?
or does this mean he is thinking of doing?
at the end of the day, the proof is in the pudding, he has got as much right as anyone - if not more becasue we know ngog cant hit a barn door and Klasnic - for all his finishing ability, is lazy...
better to throw them dice and gamble coyle than stick with a combination that is not going to win us any points...
Can't really tell if you are joking or being serious, Trig, so I'll just reply as normal.
Clearly, with the 12 days in between fixtures, Coyle and the staff decided to go on a trip to Dubai. So it has been planned for a while, regardless of recent results. I also don't think that they will be chilling out on a beach with a piña colada every day, watching the chicks go by. It isn't a holiday like you and I know it. They will be at a training camp type place, doing team bonding and fitness work.
I don't think Sordell will start this season. Although I would like to see him come off the bench once or twice!
im not 100% serious robot, id just like it if I had a carp week at work and then got treated to a team-building i.e - golfing and meetings with those 'gurus' who tell you how to end an email or answer the phone...
instead we have to do that in some godforsaken town in Yorkshire... minus the golf
Yep. It's usually Golcar. Give me six territory.
is it a good thing to take the players to dubai, if its a bonding session he is taking them on. spain is only 2hrs away and should do the same job. dubai looks to me like a treat for the players for playing well ,with spain being 2hrs away they would have a longer bonding time, and they should be told if they fail to stay in the premier league they will be bonding in fleetwood next year,
Good point GD...
Robot, golcar is a nice place actually, had a few beers there, but the place we got 'subjected' too was a hotel near udderzfeeuld ...
Its a way to help TE players release pressure an build up team work and confidence.
I don't see the problem with trying to improve the players state of mind.

Nope...
But I think it's the Dubai bit that people are annoyed about.
Dunno about how Sordell is doing in training coz I'm not there but when I've seen him for t'england under 21s he's adept at keeping the ball at his feet and general ball control - something N'gog simply hasn't got.
As for going to Dubai. It's where all the cool training facilities are and it's where all the clubs go to hang out when they have a couple of weeks to prepare. As much as we'd like to send all the players on a punishment run up Winter Hill with heavy rucksacks a bit of sun and decent surroundings may even bring us together once more.
I just hope they are doing some serious training out there and not just having a mess around, and im sure it will be focussed on training, but why Dubai?
Anyway our main focus is the next 6 games. Owen needs to get tough with them, work them hard, but also encourage them and keep them on side. They all know the task in hand, they just need a clear plan on how to do it.
I have been of the opinion that SKD is no longer guaranteed a place in the starting XI, however based on last week and his status within the club, I do think he is worth his place. We need as many leaders as we can out there and players who are emotionally behind the club as we are as fans and SKD is certainly one of those. Of course we also need players who are capable of getting us results as well and I agree partnering Sordell with SKD could well work, at home at least. Id love to see a Big Sam style front 3 of SKD, Ngog and Sordell, but I dont know whether its time for experiments.
I know i've waffled a bit but im nervous!
It's dubai because we have an academy out there and will probably use it's facilities.
I also hope the players come back all hyped up with all guns blazing, not all relaxed. Our players react well to pressure and big billings. I explain that in the thread above.
Woody is spot on, we have an academy out there, ran by the BWFCISS i would guess.
What evidence do you have that Sturridge and Sordell are similiar?
why Dubai
-------------------------------
why not! its brilliant!
Knowing Coyle's organisational skills, they'll probably end up in Dublin!
What evidence do you have that Sturridge and Sordell are similiar?
..........
they both 'look' similar types of players, can run with the ball, good finishers and thrive of flick on's.
what evidence do you have that supports the theory he isnt?
i dont...thats why i dont say he looks like a kevin davies type, or a Thierry Henry.
In either case, you implied that he may have a similiar impact. The point being, is its a big risk to take, considering how precarious our position is. People were all calling for Ngog 3 month ago....

.........
and in that 3 month has he filled you with any confidence? no...
so... i think its a gamble worth taking, he may bring us much needed goals, or he may not. either way - risking playing someone who MAY bang them in for fun, it better than starting with someone we know WONT...
I think we should give Sordell at least one game as he left Watford for Premiership football !

how gutted is he (maybe) going to be if coyle refuses to play him till next season then...
Even mcginlay who rarely knocks coyle questions sordell not playing.
