Why is our strength in depth "the biggest myth in football"? How many teams have a 5th choice cb with the experience of Ryan Nelsen to call on?
Bring in Bongani Khumalo, baptism of fire but if we lose Kaboul and King he must be the option. Stronger than Drogba and reasonably quick. Gallas can talk him through the game.
I respect Ryan Nelsen and think he will become a great coach but he is a liabilty and things like the goal against Bolton Gloss over his positional play,lack of pace, lack of timing.
This squad needs a serious overhaul in the summer preferably with a new manager and new ideas.

because every time we get an injury to a first team player... the whole way we play changes.
we may have good individual players in the squad, but there are very few like for like attacking options that actually our squad depth is virtually non existant.
if bale gets injured.. whose the like for like?
same for lennon...
same for modric...
same for vdv...
who is the like for like for walker?
benny? rose is not even a natural lb.
the only places where we have like for like cover is cb, keeper, and dm....
we have no like for like for ade... noone else can play up top alone..

2 wingers. 1 creative mid. 1 left back 1 right back

Has been pulled apart by favouritism. Only one or two players off if used to it's best potential. IMO.
Bales... we are so lucky this season that the following players have pretty much stayed fit all season.

the lack of wing cover is the worst aspect of the squad.

True Chronic, most of those had replacements but they've either been shipped out or sidelined.

modric - Kranjcar

bale - Townsend/Pienaar
Not saying the replacements are of the same quality, but how can we expect them to play well if they don't get a chance?

Im not suggesting Khumalo is a world beater but he is very similar in play to Christopher Samba slightly slower but a heck of a lot stronger.
Khumalo could probably hold off Drogba and Holt combined haha!
Nobody sees the bigger picture of the squad......
Gomes,Friedel, Gallas,King, Nelsen,Saha,Adebayor, All need to be replaced this season or next. (This list does not include players deemed not good enough for the squad, Bentley,Jenas, Alnwick,etc.)
We have financial fair play and a new stadium to contend with. It is a massive concern that seems to go relatively unnoticed.

I have seen around 2 minutes worth of Khumalo so i cant really comment, but to spend £1 million on the guy he must have something going for him, and i take your views on board
