Yeah but i don't want to get a bill for my legal tax avoidance....surely this is possible being legal n'all?
According to your new MIH accountant it is.....
"I want to do some of that legal tax avoidance that RFC(IA) did"
--------------------------
You are entitled to look to reduce your liabilities within the law. Countless companies and individuals do it. The tax people might take issue with what you're doing - something that has happened many, many times. Then you can take it to a tribunal....
Would i have to lquidise myself 10 yrs later though....seems a bit ott for doing some legal tax avoidance
Tim the guy on the thread below puts great store by the fact that the fans are a seperate entity to the club.
So what exactly are WE,the fans, guilty of again?
Hmmm...a tribunal you say?....that doesn't sound very appealing.Surely the cost of this would negate any gains from my legal tax avoidance?
DC, the fans laped up the triumphalism, waved the tenners, and shouted WATP.
Yet covered their ears and went 'lalalalalala' when discussions about money came up. The Big Hoose would always be there, after all.
The fans demanded success and never really asked who was paying for it.
Well you've got ten year to amass a warchest that'll see ye right in a tax haven of your choice (no,not Ibrox)
What has annoyed me this week is the fact that these new rules appear to be just getting made up to punish Rangers
**********************************************************
No they aren't. When Leeds went into administration they got a points deduction. They got relegated which they would have anyway but because they started the next season as a new club the got a 25 point deduction which cost them getting back into the Championship.
The SFA have seen clubs in other countries and itself going into admin and liked the 10 point penalty. You seem to think Rangers are the only club to get a 10 point penalty in Scotland?
Maybe Airdrie shoul just buy you out?
Or perhaps you think it is unfair you are being punished for years of not paying your debts and think that by simply going into liquidation and wiping them out then that is ok and no further punishment should happen?
If that is the case then you would be happy for Celtic to splash millions for the next 20 years thrashing the league. Surpassing Rangers title wins then saying "oops sorry can't pay it back, liquidate us and we will start again next season with no debt"?
aye tim,I confess,as a teen my fiscal investigatory abilities were sadly lacking
money for a cargo was top priority in them days ffs
Murney the timing reeks
there have been quite a few admin events in British football in recent years
Why didnt the SFA update their policy using one of these as a benchmark,as opposed to the reactive bullscheidt we're getting now?
Without trying to seem arrogant DC it's probably because Rangers attracts more media attention than other Scottish teams, would probably be the same if it was Celtic in our position. They are trying to make themselves look better after the horse has bolted.
Without doubt, gus, bit late for that noo right enough

cos Campbell told them RFC(IA) would be ok running their legal tax avoidance scheme.
Pretty straightforward if you ask me.
The horse has bolted, and Rangers do not want to catch it.
Rangers fans should acknowledge the genuine anger out there, not only among tims, but more broadly at grassroots level.
Rangers have erred, big time. To complain at feather-light punishment is shocking.
Any newco must go to the 3rd.
Featherlight punishment
wrt to the 3rd,would have a lot less of a problem with this than leaving us sportingly and financially hamstrung in the SPL,purely for the rest to cash in
It's always gonna look biased coming from a Celtic fab but I think, purely for the integrity of Scottish football they have to start again in the third division.
Otherwise we'll be the laughing stock of the football world, and uefa would do us no favours in the future. The spl unfortunately has to take the hit for three years, with fans really digging in for their teams and turning up to games to keep their teams afloat
I wouldn't mind us going to the 3rd division. As has been stated; if we liquidate then it's only fair. It would also give the club a chance to re-build and hopefully develop Scottish youth.
I am not confident that we would go straight up the leagues and could see a couple of years in division one but we would get back to the SPL eventually.
We've already lost 10 points. As I understand it, if we go into a newco it's proposed we'll lose 20 more. A 30-point penalty in total. Plus we'd lose 75% of our SPL money. Plus we'd be barred from European competition for 3 seasons. And no doubt we'd face various other difficulties. But some folk would never be happy no matter how much we were punished, short of extinction.
