McLeish Next Season - The Horror

Damned if we survive, damned if we don't. He takes us down and it's goodbye ginger, hello football mgr, though RL has form in hiring effwits, so don't hold your breath. If we stay up, it's years of dross to come. I know so many folk who aren't renewing next year. Looks like those 'idiotic' protesters were right and the sheep were very, very wrong. Planks (not you Bumble). Not sure what I wish for now, maybe relly isn't so bad mate?

*Bumble, even JG and DOL were better than this idiot. I cannot believe the tripe we've been served up, and the sheep that still insist we must show loyalty. It's beyond moronic, taking idiocy into a whole new dimension. There is no way the toon army, fans of the top eight or for that matter, almost any other EPL club would stomach this. Villans need to wake up and do summat.

At least the results are going our way today. I'd happily take a draw tomorrow but we might as well totally go for it as the real pressure is on Utd. Knowing McLoser though he'll play for a draw as usual and after we're 4 - 0 down he'll bring on Heskey. What a LOSER.

I'll be dead straight with you mate; there is no way in this whole universe, that any Villan should be looking for QPR results, though I'm as glad as you. But it ain't right. You and I both know that this clown would be mincemeat by now if Deadly was still at the helm. RL is a joke. We may as well re-employ GH, dodgy ticker or no; it can't be worse than this. A draw would be grand, I'd take it. The Bolton game is massive now. We simply have to win it, but when the whole team has been trained into the art of defence and drawing (though it's been an abstract painting that makes no sense at best), how do we change the ethos into one of dominating attack, possession and creativity?

Calm down lads, calm down. As Clough used to say. Doubt very much if this is the worst Villa side for 30 years, but its the worst managed Villa side for at least that long. And yes, Eck would drive anybody up the wall.

But it's not long now to the end of the season. Just hang in there. Main thing at the moment is that we stay in the PL.

Why am I taking it calmly? Because I've been reading between the lines, and am close to dead certain the Eck won't be here next year. There isn't much we can do before then. So just hang in there. Come the end of the season I'm sure we'll all (Randy included) be able to breath a long sigh of relief.

Let's hope so mate, let's pray so.

I think we'll just survive this season. But if McLeish is still here next season then RL must literally leave this great football club and find a buyer who actually understands our history, traditions and status. We are NOT Wigan, QPR, or even Blackburn. We're Aston Villa, and we should be fighting for European places every season. That should be the aim of this club. And a season like this, with absolutely no positives, should be treated as it is: a shambles which needs to be put right by firing the manager, bringing in a quality manager, and bringing in top quality players so that it DOESN'T happen again.

We have the makings of a good team. We just need a good enough manager to bring the best out of the good players we do have and move on the players who time and time again offer us nothing on the pitch (Warnock, Heskey, Collins and Hutton the most obvious examples). McLeish doesn't need another season to prove his incompetence. He's already proven what we all knew: that he is a poor manager whose appointment as coach of a club like ours shows how much our so-called owner has lost the plot. If Lerner does still supposedly "love the club" he has a very, very strange way of showing it.

Lerner has to do one of two things: admit to his mistakes and sack McLeish, appoint a high profile manager who will get Villa back to where they should be, and stop all this cost cutting nonsense which has been going on forever and actually make some decent funds available to improve the squad. Or identify an owner with the ambition and wealth to take us forward and sell up. Hell, sell the club back to Ellis if that's what it takes. I know for sure he wouldn't have taken any of the rubbish we have been subjected to this season.

This club is still capable of success and competing with the likes of Everton and Newcastle. However, this will not happen under McLeish and that is why I cannot back this guy. He is just too poor a manager to take seriously and I will not watch Villa next season if he is still running this club.

Could anybody who agrees with Mcleish's management stick a message on this post.
Is anyone going to renew their season ticket for next season...IF Mcleish remains in charge.
You all know from previous posts my point of view....Whats yours.

46 years supporting the villa...worst manager...possibly one of the worst teams and all I hear is people like andylochead telling me to stop moaning.
Well mate for 46 years I have had to endure a 420 mile round trip to watch my club...winter and summer...and with the cost today a day out costs (with petrol and meals) around £200 pounds a trip .
Now andy ....with the utter rubbish Mcleish is serving up week in week out I think that I along with thousands of other villans (seen the gates lately) are entitled a moan...don't you

andylochead09 - king of the sheep

As a card carrying season ticket holder the man is more than entitled to complain about the dross being served up and so are the rest of us.

Last seasons Villa squad minus Downing and Young does not equal our current league position - the difference is the hopeless ginger McLoose

I take it from your name that you are a long-time supporter of Villa and as Lochead was in our Division 3 team then I'm sure you have seen the worst times at Villa Park. I respect that and I agree that we need to support the team for now.

However, the football this season has been dire. There are 6 - 8,000 missing fans this season and we are firmly entrenched in the bottom six. Losing Young and Downing does not equate to that. Plus, nobody seems to remember that McLeish has spent £17m this season (that's the Young fee).

So while I agree that we should support the team, the instant that we are 'safe' is the time for a prolonged and loud 'McLeish out' campaign to start. Just maybe, McLeish might have the dignity to resign. Let's hope so.

Yes im 50 this year and saw the bad old days in Division 3!

I take your point everyone is entitled to an opinion but some cant see the damage they are doing to the players confidence by all this negativity!

Really think the players cant relax!

Anyway if we are relegated and Mcleish stops for the next ten years, i will still renew my ticket and support my team!!!!

You ask why.....................................Villa till i Die!

If only

So you travel 420 miles round trip with costs of what you say is around £200.. Well you should know that spending a vast amount of money doesn't guarantee success. LOL

Oh and just for the record i too have to clock up the miles to see my beloved villa and will continue to do so through the good times and the bad.

Yes, it is difficult for the players to relax and we have a lot of youngsters out there at the moment,
However, McLeish seems have have strangled the passion and voice from the fans this season with his dull, drab, dour (and unsuccessful) football. Personally, I do think we should continue to support the team UNTIL IF/WHEN WE ARE SAFE,
Then it should be both barrels aimed at McLeish. He CANNOT still be there next season.
