I'm not sure I understand Nigel's reasoning about players traditionally being brought in at the end of July/early August. Don't we want them now, off on the training camp, bonding with the lads, fitting into the system when they go to Switzerland, then ready to roll when the season starts?

I agree it's better to have the player earlier ...but in the UK and abroad there has been too much movement as of yet. prices may fall
