Wigan Peers ?

posted on 17/4/12

Wigan are showing courage, team spirit and have a manager who genuinely believes they can stay up and who motivates and encourages his players.

This is why Wigan are staying up and we will be relegated.

I think a Knighthood for him's a bit strong, but I like what you did there.

Not enough word-play on here.

Wild Rover, I agree in essence with what you're saying but there's got to be more to it than that, 'cause Uncle Owen spends all day telling the lads how brilliant they are, in an increasingly desperate attempt to create some self-belief.

David N'Gog obviously thinks he's Messi.

And he is quite Messi. It's just not spelled the same way......

It also doesn't help if your club is ran by people who have no idea of football, think we can achieve champions league football in 4 years by employing a manager with no experience, invest no money in the team and sell our most promising young players.

Rant over.

Bet you get decent Chicken Balti pies at Ewood now though, don't you?

See, every cloud......

"And that Martinez fella is making our nice Mr Coyle look useless"

I'm not sure we are allowed to say that! Martinez hasn't had Holden all season..

Oh, hang on.....

(Just Incase you missed the first one)..

Hi Breads, hope you're well....!?

Evenin' Mallorca.

Not too shabby, thanks.

Y usted?

Things are getting quite tight now, aren't they?

Very similar to the year with Megson... Weird but I accepted Relegation with him in charge... I'm kinda annoyed we are in this position with Coyle.

The fairy tale said nothing about relegation. I was convinced we'd be playing like Swansea and sat in Newcastles position...

Granted not all his fault, but I kinda want to go to Burnley with my receipt and ask for a refund?

Any chance 'I'm Lovin It'

After all the months and months of campaigning to get rid of "him", I'm not going to start calling for Coyle's head. That'd be churlish.

But I would like to see more than endless post-match interviews wherein he bangs on about "fantastic fooootball players at the club" and how much self belief we've got running through the squad.

There's more to being as manager than just constantly trying to instill self-belief, Owen.

If they ain't good enough, they ain't good enough.

We should take a punt on that Vaz Te kid at West Ham......

It's not a Comfortable position not having a clue what division or type of squad we will have in August..

So many clubs claim to be financially fine then within a month are on their backside and the world has caved in!

I don't accept relegation would consist of losing the out of contract players and nothing else...

Six games left. Six massive games.

Wolves - Gone (barring some crazy miracle turn-around).
Blackburn - Very close to gone.

For me it is all down to whether we outperform QPR. A few weeks ago we were keeping a close eye on the results of 4 other teams, and now just one team.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, I know who I'd rather be a fan of

8/10 times, you'd expect the expected results the future holds...

But Wigan and to some extend QPR, have shown that the season has thrown up madness... We ain't bottom 3 because we've got the expected points v the expected teams..

Do I really wanna go to Stoke seeking a win to stop up!?

Mallorca - the reality is that every season throws up mad results. We are just noticing it more this year because of our precarious position.

Wigan deserve to stay up in my opinion after their last two games. QPR are a bit of an enigma. Yes, they beat Chelsea and Arsenal (and Liverpool), but then lose some crazy games with silly red cards.

Most of our points have come from the teams around us. All I am saying, is I would rather have our 6 games than QPR's 4 games.

Just taken my 'optimism pills' - you should try some!!

I believe they are blind faith pills and sapositries (sp)?

Leave it with you...

PS;

My match predictors have us up....

They had us to finish above Wigan.... 48 hours ago...

posted on 17/4/12

Yes, actually you'd need to overdose just to get halfway to my optimism!!

Posted that after I saw your p.s.

My predictor had us in CL position all season

posted on 17/4/12

I hope you stay up more than QPR, that way Wigan have a guaranteed 6 points for next season

BS9 - Very well done on your last two wins.

BUT, Bolton and Wigan were even this season - 3pts each

Mallorca, If you bought Coyle using the club Amex, you could possibly get a full refund under the `Unfit for the purpose intended` rule. If you bought him on easy terms then you could just refuse to pay, but if you paid upfront then I think you are stuck with him. ( please note the lack of a laughing smiley)
For what it is worth I think you will stay up with Wigan. Its Wolves, Rovers and QPR for me.

Thanks for the honesty FC... I'm sure we paid on the Never Never... ?

I'm assuming after the last 2 years, you'd love to see us go down though? Can I just add, understandably..
(please note lack of thumbs up smiley)...

Our record with Wigan this season is won one, lost one.

Regarding Bristol City, I can't remember the last season you managed the same league..?

Thanks for Nicky Hunt btw...
