i know that a few of us are on here already and i know that people are getting annoyed with the not606 board so more could be moving but if not i will stay on the sports gaming area of the board

I will continue to contribute to both forums and would like to see a few more do the same..

I left because of the widespread abuse between users, which was not only condoned, but actively encouraged

I tried to encourage moderation, but the moderators laughed at me, saying that it was just 'banter' and that it would 'settle down' . . . . the phrase 'give them an inch, and they'll take a mile' sprung to mind, which is what happened

So I couldn't use a site where contributors were encouraged to abuse each other, 'cos I don't think it encourages decent posters to debate sensibly, and, apart from the odd exception, it continued the way it was allowed to start . . . . if you encourage a child to take the mickey out of someone, and he gets away with it, what's he going to continue to do . . . . if you encourage a child to steal something from a shop, and he gets away with it, what's he going to continue to do

There has to be supervision ( moderation ) even with adults, 'cos the same thing happens if you don't

I'm not averse to posting controversially/contentiously or replying to idiotic script, and I'm certainly not perfect, but I don't see the point of simply abusing another poster just because I don't agree with them

I offered to act as one to help setting up the site, 'cos they obviously needed quite a bit of help

i was a mod for the wigan site i loved it but the mods were getting more and more annoyed with mick because he did nothing but talk about the ir a with the horrible general chat people

i left because he didnt listen to anytihng wigan fans wanted and so they all left the site

i think we need to be trying underhand tactics to get the fans over here and set up a board i think if we can PM some of the people clearly annoyed with whats going on and get some of them to come over and help here then we can attract outhers

I think people like syd wont ever move because he is clearly having to much fun with being super mod but outhers i tihnk might join

Sidney thrives on the power he has, so there's no chance of him 'defecting' . . . . I totally disagree with any underhand tactics, Connor, 'cos if anybody wants a free transfer to this, more hospitable, site they will come anyway

I have to disagree about Syd...In my opinion he has always tried to go with what the majority want, and has took loads of stick when when others don't like it..He does a hell of a lot of work for nowt on that site, and personally I have a lot of respect for the guy and would never do anything under-hand to undermine his efforts.
Also, Syd is one of the few Sunderland fans who does pop over here from time, although he does have a different username..

Sidney's retired now, and I've got no doubt that he does a lot of work on the site, behind the scenes and otherwise - he's just got different ideas to me regarding the supervision/moderation of a forum . . . . I always got on very well with him on BBC606
