Cozer, just to say that if that's the best read you have had in ages. Im sure some on here can suggest some appropriate reading material.

Don't take up any of PDs suggestions though.

Not a Bates supporter but the letter is a load of tosh. It's far too long, repeats itself several times and comes out with lines like "you look like Colonel Sanders" not once but twice. It's not serious and it's not funny.

Was it written by an eight-year old?

i THING THAT THE WRITER IS SO FURIOUS WITH bates THAT HE LETS HIS EMOTION RUN AWAY WITH HIM needs to cool down and condense it but I totally agree with him about that parasite

Is Ken a liar or does he just lack intelligence? Or maybe he just made a mistake?

Jont and Tusc:
I have ran my own business and have always taken customer care to the extreme, In once sense I bet Tuscany, Bates and myself have one thing in common
we've all got too high opinion of ourselves to take notice of personal insults.
People can call me what they like if it's true I take it on the chin if I know different I find it funny
Yes Chorley I took all those insults on the chin

I bet you one thing if Bates ever was called to give evidence again he'd be too ill to attend and

He was fast on his feet in his younger days, not any more a good barrister would run rings around him.

CAN THE REAL TUSCANY PLEASE STAND UP.

McAllister,Wise or Larry weren't backed as much as they should of been. Bloody hell Tusc You got your
T-shirts before me. They can't match my sample.
A Casino at ER would put you out of business.
Then again who would trust the wheel, can you insist on your own pack of cards being used?
Thinking about it, you'll be fine.

Chorley: I filtered you as a joke, didn't know it lasted a month. God how I missed you.

Cozer, the managers were backed IMO, just not at the level of most Leeds fans would have wanted, but what you must realise is there are a hundred or so more clubs out there, sometimes things take more time, if ridsdale was chairman I'm sure we'd of put a bid in for Messi by now

Yes, a Casino at ER would be liabilty for sure, given the fact that nobody terns up anymore, and it's because we are championship, the Ken Bates thing is an exuse for people not to go.

you are right about one thing though, I do think far too much of myself to let personal insults get to me

WILL THE REAL TUSCANY, PLEASE STAND UP

Y'all act like you never seen an Italian person before
Jaws all on the floor like Pam, like Tommy just burst in the door

It's the return of the... "Ah, wait, no way, you're kidding,

And Cozer said... nothing you idiots!
cozers dead, he's locked in my basement! (Ha-ha!)
Feminist women love Tuscany
"ginue hood, I'm sick of him
Look at him, walkin around grabbin his you-know-what
Flippin the you-know-who," "Yeah, but he's so cute though!"

Eric """I see you as a sort of shorter and more rotund Antonio Carluccio, but acting the role of Don Corleone in a thinly veiled broad Yorkshire accent...!"""

---

well you cheeky so and so - I do have a little twinge of a yorkshire accent, funny how my brother has a thin southern accent too, so when we are speaking English to each other we sound really different, but in Italian, we sound the same - I have two other brothers living in Italy, who can speak English but struggle to understand the guy on "your on sky sports" (can't remember his name, the really southern one)

Cozer, just had a read back of my comments yesterday they read far worse than I intended, so my sincere apologies...

as for the T-shirts, well I haven't got them yet, but I'm sure they won't be 'tacky', I do however like Erics idea better though

Of course the manager is in charge of signings... that is a given. The chairman doesn't turn around and say "get this player, this player and this player". What the chairman does do is given the manager his budget and what he's prepared to spend on any given player. I am saying that the chairman limits what the manager can spend on a player and if he thinks a player is too much money, regardless of how off the mark his idea of "too much" is or how vital a given player is to improving the squad, the chairman will veto it. The board are also responsible for contract negotiations. Grayson says "do everything you can to get this player to sign a contract" - the boards idea of what we can afford to do is, again, miles off the mark, so they go ahead and do everything they can, which to them is offering a **** poor contract to an unproven player - unproven in that we don't know if it will work out or not. To them that reduces the players value.

And yes, the manager decides if we sell a player or not, but it's too easy to pressure the manager into making a decision. Again, the manager says "this player is key to our plans, do everything you can to keep him". What the board interprets "everything we can" to mean is down to the board. If they want to muck about with the contracts because "it's bad business to sort contracts out during the transfer window" and then sell the player because the player wanted to leave because he was never offered a contract and felt unwanted, that again isn't the managers fault. In the boards definition of "everything we can", offering a contract during the transfer window when it'll cost "way over the odds" is not part of everything we can. Of course, the contract should have been sorted before the end of the season, but if they'd sorted it before the end of the season (or in January/February when the issue first came up), they wouldn't have the excuse that the player wouldn't sign a contract to allow them to cash in.

The manager decides what players he wants. The board decide whether or not they will allow him to have those players. If he's not allowed his first choices he's forced into second and third choices, which end up being poor.

Tusc..

I'm going to produce another tee shirt in the style of a JA606 Championsip Leeds United thread entitled

'I'm only in this hospital because I am terminally dreary...!'

There will be a big thumbs up sign on the front

There'll be a list of names on the back

I am open to offers for names, but as a list it will need to be aesthetically pleasing. There will be space at the bettom for any series of numbers in brackets!
