I think we are well capable of beating United this saturday which might open the door a bit for you. Also we have lost 3 playoffs without getting to the final so I reckon its our year so you best go up automatically

Over 2 legs I'm confident but the final is tough,I'd rather play mk dons Tbh. Rhodes could destroy us in all honesty, saying that can mk keep him quiet over 2 legs?

Highly doubtful.

Hoping we get Notts County, then MK Dons in the final would be the biggest wembley crowd. Think the blunts have it sown up. Thats what we should all be telling them anyway!!!

To be honest I would take anyone in the semi, I think over two legs we can beat any of them. Carlisle might be the toughest of the lot and boy do we owe Stevenage a beating!!

Of course if Hudders keep up their current form we could be playing them in the semi!!!!

Still haven't given up all hope of catching the blunts but its going to be tough.

! Not a chance St Charles, i'm hoping our bad run is now, cos it doesn't matter now! The play offs are a different thing!

U also thinks blunts have it sewn up, even if they lose against the dons Time to start planning for a tough play-off campaign. Would hate to face our bogey team Stevenage.....but would love some sweet revenge if lessons have been learnt

I can't see United ****ing it up, so I think we're playoffs bound.

At Hillsborough I think we're very very hard to beat, so its the away leg to look at. Stevenage and Carlisle will both be tough, small old fashioned grounds that they've turned into fortresses. Notts County is closer to home, a bigger more modern ground and I'd prefer that - interesting we beat Brentford in the playoff semis last time - and we are (I believe) the only team with a 100% record in the playoffs - played three won three.

For the final, anything can happen on the day, Huddersfield are in dire form, but will bring a big fan base, MK Dons are in better form but will bring a smaller fan base. Of the two I'd probably choose the Dons to play as Rhodes is the one player that could walk into any League One side and can really hurt us, or anyone else, if he gets the chance. The flipside being that they were really poor when we last met and could have played all week without them scoring.

I think we'll get Udders if we get through the semis tbh. I think Wetherby has a decent point about their poor run being now so they'll be a different proposition in the final (if we both get there).

Not best pleased with third but who is? Anyhow we would all have been happy with play-offs when we began the season under His Garyness, wouldn't we?

We knew play-offs would be a lottery. Carlisle, Stevenage and Notts C, all have decent momentum in the last third of the season so it is a veritable roulette wheel. My money is on Blue and White - us the Wednesdayites!

Not sure MK Dons will have the beating of Udders tbh.

Come on Wednesday.

There is no way the Blunts will mess up, so for me i am convinced that its the playoffs, but even then knowing Wednesday, i'm not convinced of playoff success.
I firmly believe, that we are going to have another season of this dire league 1 and win auto, next season.
I really hope i'm going to be sucking eggs/ Wet fish slapped round my chops.
I never wanted Meggo, but unlike most on here, i would be more confident, of winning the playoffs, with him, than without him.

Whatever happens I'm just going to enjoy the ride, this is all far better than sitting just above the drop zone in the Championship seeing your midfield get sliced open every Saturday like the good old Fr Ted days!

Damn those extra digits...

Good point about Meggo Hirsty. We would scrape through the play offs with convincing one-nils, but get through we would!!

With D.Jones we'll get goals; I dunno think our defence is solid enough, he's gradually easing MB back in on the sly (BTW I rate MB, always have) obviously has more faith in him than Meggo did.

How can you doubt Jones!?

I just think that, when it counts on massive occasions, then meggo, could install, in the players, what it means to the fans, hence the draw and win against the pigs.
Just my opinion.
Overall, for the season long haul, i would rather have Jones.

Sorry Mike, not doubting Dave Jones at all, I have accepted him fully he has been great since he took over. Just agree that Meggo would have also set us up to be impenetrable for the play offs.

Unless your on about Rob? In which case I have absolutely no doubts about him whatsoever. MB can learn from him and Batth. MB also had too much responsibility on his shoulders under Irvine/Laws and was surplus to Meggos requirements.

OK, for a moment there I thought I was going to have to get my points per games statistics out and who knows where that would have led us!?

posted on 20/4/12

Mike, it would have led us into uncharted 'sensible football related posts territory'. That simply wouldn't do.

Where's Izzy?

Thought that was a case of Matter of fact Shibbs

On a serious note (at last) the way I see it is that if the blunts lose on Saturday to the retailers then theres no reason why we cant still snatch 2nd as they have stevenage the game after but if they win on Sat then I think we'll resign ourselves to the play offs. In the Semis id take Notts then final Id take McDonalds
