The thing is that that incident was more to do with politics than football. Egypt, especially Cairo, is SO SO dangerous at the moment and that football match was the tip of the iceberg.

I know because my Dad runs an international HRSD thing and the only two cities he isn't allowed to go to are Cairo and Baghdad.

The proper North London Gooners know their roots and know Spurs are the biggest but the ones down South would have you believe it's United or Chelsea

Even although the football these days is dire, the Old Firm is definately the biggest derby for me. Though its also the only derby i've been to

Inter vs Juventus is bigger than Inter vs Milan

I think personally it depends where you live.

I love beating Chelsea and Arsenal because I know more Arsenal and Chelsea fans than Everton and United fans where I live.

In France, I escape it all

But I have a lot of bitterness towards United, so it's always them I enjoy beating the most.

bubbles. no goooner worth their salt will tell you that the arsenal united rivalry is bigger than the spurs arsenal rivalry.

if any of them do then they dont have a clue and are probably saying it because in their circle of friends its 3 arsenal fans and 2 man u fans !

"Celtic rangers is just about religon so can not be counted "

Celtic was set up as a charity to support Irish immigrants in Glasgow's east end, Rangers was latched on to by the Belfast shipworkers in Govan. The hatred has as much to do with social factors like comparative status, employment opportunities and historical factors as religion. If it's solely based on religion why would Celtic number protestants like Jock Stein and Kenny Dalglish as among their greatest.

The clubs have often been seen as embodying a political philosophy (United Ireland vs Ulster in the UK) by some of their fans, so to say it's just religious and doesn't matter is a bit lazy.

Even if it was just religion, why does that invalidate it as a great rivalry?
