Do the players actually care?

I do not think players really like losing, but the majority of players really do not have any affinity with Spurs, other than they collect their wages evey week. They would be quite happy plying their trade elsewhere if they have to.

I am afraid it is the modern player syndrone.

I blame it all on Harry. The players have no more, no less, allegiance than other PL players to their clubs I'm sure. The difference is Harry has a Plan A of his team of best individuals who he'll always pick, and they largely play as individuals. And no plan B, ever. No Ade, who works in our 4-4-1-1? Just stick Defoe in instead and it's his fault if it doesn't work out (even though he can't play that system). No VDV? Don't try Niko or Gio, just go straight 4-4-2 and blame the lack of Rafa. Etc etc etc.

At our best this season (a handful of games to be fair) the team spirit and ethos HAS come together (probably despite Harry) to devastating effect. Other than that we've largely been that collection of individuals. A lot of the time that's been good enough, because our ability as a collection of individuals was too good for a 'team' of average ability. Quite a few games we rode our luck but still got good results. And now it's just falling to pieces and you can see half the team are just thinking about themselves and what their exit strategy from this shambles can be for the end of the season.

Looks like another AVB situation to me, has HR lost it with the players?

What sir said...it's a job...end of...akin they no doubt love...but a job nonetheless...

They will have an affinity with whoever pays the most...!!!

We may hate them...but this team is crying out for a terry type character....!!!!

i think bale cares about us winning. for me the problem with bale is that he seems to be out of control. every time he gets the ball anywhere near the box he just takes a pot shot. he's running round like a lunatic and not where we need him when we need him.

i dont think modric gives two shiitts to be honest and cant wait to see the back of him.

i think benny's more interested in his cool reputation at the moment and needs a kcik up the backside, rather than someone joking about how lackadasical he is.

the other defence all care but king's hobbling round like he's just been released from an old people's home, and gallas isnt young enough to play centre back on his own.

i dont think adebayore ever really cared to be honest and i look forward to him leaving too.

Can't Blame Bale for taking a shot.
Only other player to risk it is VDV.
Rest of them just try to waltz the ball into the net, which wasn't going to happen.
So I'm all for Bale having a crack.
Only trouble was ..... Paddy Kenny.

Funny how things change over the course of a season...

ADE wasn't on the pitch today!

=====================

yes you can. every time he gets the ball near the edge of the boc he shoots regardless of where anyone else is on the pitch. it's ridiculous. i'd be pizzed off if our number one striker was doing it, let alone the fkg left winger.

If he Bale is taking shots from 40 yards while there are far better options, then yes you can blame him.

His indiscipline on that left flank is seriously costing Spurs. He only had one cross on the left all game. One cross!!! How is that allowed to happen?

Bale is starting to believe his own hype and it's gone to his head. If Barca or Madrid offer 35m plus you should snap their hands off.

Fred - if we get a manager in who actually manages him rather than just saying 'you're triffic lad get out there and play where you like' then he'd be worth VERY much more than 35m.

I think Bale would thrive under a manager that keeps him on the ground. Ever since your fans came back down to earth after the cracking early season form (I know I can't talk, we acted like we'd won the world cup after the CC and we think Calamity Ken is our saviour ) I've liked you guys a lot more and want you to do better than you currently are. Now you're out of the top four I think the pressure has gone a bit and that'll be an advantage to you

If Bale passed the ball in the penalty area to anyone other than VDV it would be wasted.
That's the point.
Really dunno wot Defoe was doing on the pitch today.
Bale and VDV were the only shooters.
Unfortunately Paddy Kenny was getting inthe way. Wish he got the sun in his eyes ....like Brad

----------------------------

It would be wasted the way he played today, possibly. I remember when he used to play left wing, break away, and cross for the likes of Defoe to score regularly.

VDV didn't score today despite all sorts of chances, so there's an argument there that he was the LAST person to be passed to, but then we're getting even beyond the 'ifs and buts'...

I also don't know what Defoe was doing on the pitch today IN THAT FORMATION. He can't play that role, and was our only fit striker, so he HAD to play, and the team should have been built around that fact. Instead it was built around the usual 'VDV has to start, Modric has to start, Parker has to start, Bale has to wander into pockets all over the pitch...um, what else have we got? Oh yeah, no RB cover so Walker has to start, no fit central defenders so King and Gallas have to start. Wow the team's picked itself, triffic!'

Harold's indecision is the reason behind all this. Until the team knows one way or the other, I don't see a pick up in form for this season. It could be Levy's intransigence over the England job for Harold.

exactly.

Think we need to sell Modric and get another Sandro.

But the real issue to day was gifting a goal to a Mark Hughes team. That really makes life difficult. Note wot happened to Barca at Stamford Bridge!
