Would fans rather......

Cement their place in the play offs with games still to play?

Or

Sneak in at the last minute?

Does form count?

Form is out of the window when it comes to the playoffs. It comes down to who can hold their nerve and make the most of their chances. Town, this season, have lacked in both departments!

We should be going into the playoffs with the mindset of the underdogs! Ease some of the pressure off the players and add the element of 'que sera'!

The expectation of an automatic position has proven to be a 'rod to the backs' of the squad, making it a rather frustrating season.

The lads can't cope with the pressure, so Mr Grsyson should play the hype of the media down and play the 'humble' card.

That's my mantra anyhow. Whatever will be, will be!

The next 2 games mean nothing to me other than getting everyone fit and maybe the strikers into goalscoring form.

Now that we know we are playing MK Dons all attention should be on how we are going to play against them.

What i want to know, and i'm not sure there is an answer, is how can the club ensure fans simply attend against MK Dons home and away bearing in mind it's on TV? Can we reduce ticket prices etc?

Anything less than a packed out away end at Milton Keynes will send the wrong message to the players. The home supporters could easily be out shouted.

So this is my plea. Please bring as many friends/family to the home leg and if you're thinking about the away leg get there! My attempt to sell it to anyone is that it's an excellent away venue. It's no Millwall. Padded seats, loads of leg room, reasonable stewards, brilliant concourse, if the suns out loads of space around the ground with an Asda for a few cans, easy to get too and from, loads of parking (little expensive), away fan friendly pub and not in the slightest way intimidating. Easily my favourite away game.

This is probably the worst Town team to make the play-offs that I can remember...Sure we've been trundling along most of the season, albeit unconvincingly, in a very poor league..so poor that the top few teams are getting record points..but we've flunked over the past few months..

Does it matter ? Well, not really I don't think..You take the first 2 games as a 2 legged cup tie...everything that went on before is forgotten and meaningless...

I'm sure some reverse psychology will work with Town...unburdened with the pressure of being one time favourites for an auto place..now seen as a bit of an outsider..that might help create some sort of trench mentality among the team..

As for reduced ticket prices, all the receipts go into a pot and are shared by all league clubs...so I expect the FL will have something to say about price reductions...live Sky footy for the play-offs is a big payday for some league clubs with small incomes, but it's a killer for the atmosphere, and you would hope that common sense would prevail in trying the get the grounds as full as possible, but somehow I doubt it !..

Would someone be kind enough to Re-Post The Actual dates again as I just know I'll have difficulties with certain ones.. I will literally have to Beat Myself Up .. Something I'm not very good at .. Any Takers.. ?

What about handing out freebies or something? I know some didn't like the t-shirts last time but that's only cause we lost. I liked them, or a free program or pie, i don't know, anything to get the place full.

What about one off cheerleaders from Hooters?

Ta Boo (You Sure Your a F D & not an ex teacher .. ? .. as you so remind me of someone I actually know and Like) Are Home/Away legs still to be decided then .. ? .. ..

Ex wife is a headteacher Boots, that was enough to put my off that one time route.

Whoever finishes 5th gets the 1st leg at home on the less intimidating Saturday lunchtime.

The final, which we will be in, is Saturday the 26th. Knowing our opponents early is a blessing allowing me plenty of time to sort work and travel for each scenario.

now the dons have beaten the blades, its odds on that the home leg will be first.. dons also have a 6 better goal difference so its an extra point...
lunch time kick off..on tv..leads in the direction of a tight , dull, atmosphere lacking draw..
tuesday night at a good ground, good facilities and not too far away, who knows..

really will be the time for all involved with htfc to stand up and be counted, both on the pitch and in the away end..

Town to win both legs 2.0 ✔

The thought of the 2nd leg down there has got hairs on end.

Can't help agreeing with 38 a Saturday 1st leg at home has low key, low quality draw written all over it.

what? Got my hairs standing on end!

Be interesting to see how many tickets they give us. They could afford to give us up to 6000 the way the stadium is set up. If that were the case how about putting on free travel?

We could afford to give you 8000 for a Saturday game, 10000 for a tuesday night game tbh...

How many did you give Sheff United Hazsa on Saturday? How you playing at the moment? It's poor stuff at Huddersfield right now..

Forgot to say that our new found strength might have something to do with Alan Smith. He looked way off the pace when he came in, but he's quality now.

Not a popular chap in Huddersfield!

Our fans can be fickle and don't always help the players. Not many Town fans seem too concerned about finishing 4th or 5th.

4th for me!

hazsa...your tuesday night away game at peterbro' wasn't exactly in front of a big crowd...Truth is you will probably draw at Hudds but we'll do you at Stadium MK...that's based on the premise that we can't continue to play pants forever....

It'll be interesting to see Sheff Utd knocked out of autos by Stevenage, then knocked out of play-offs also...I wouldn't relish being a Blades fan at the moment..with so much just in your grasp..

I feel more relaxed now that we know exactly what we are doing..MKDons have had a lot of near misses over the past few years, and would probably feel they deserve to go up more than we do..and to be honest I'd agree with them...While they have struck a bit of form, Town are miles away from the team that played at MK earlier in the season...but Grayson can perhaps put together a side that is specifically designed to win a play-off...not sure other sides can do that, and that may be our trump card this time round..

Am sure Miller and Johnson will be involved, no place for inexperience or hotheads...he's got 2 games to try out his play off formation...unless he's keeping it behind closed doors...
