I think we will draw at City, honestly cant see us losing, confident #20 will come this season

Could be worse, we only let in 4. Chill, 20's coming <deep breath>

This time last year we lost at the Emirates and people said we'll bottle it. I'm confident we'll do the business at City too This is when experience kicks in for us

I am sorry to say that I think we will get a spanking next monday but win our last two games which means City need to drop points at Newcastle. I just don't see us containing their attack . Hope I am way off the mark. Wigan and Everton games , one point is just not good enough!!

I am not surprised by what happened today. This team lack character in my view and have consistently bottled it on big occasions. There is a difference between faith and blind faith. There is nothing to suggest we will get the job done next Monday.

It depends on Mancini's approach IMO

If I have learnt (and said) on many occassions this season, teams that bring it to us have some success, those that become negative dont

Mancini will IMO revert to type and set up defensively and that will be to his loss.

Blackburn is the example, came to OT and won ala city, when the pressure was on sat back and lost, hopefully ala city

If you were to offer me a draw next week, i'd bite your arm off.

Might get a bit of stick for this, but wouldnt mind seeing us park the bus.

Bloodred we probably will via a 4-5-1

I want to go for it and win, meaning we win the league against Swansea so we dont have to go to Sunderland needing a win

bloodred - I want us to go for it

de gea

smalling rio evans evra

valencia carrick scholes young

nani
rooney

But rather than a stubborn 442 or 451 etc I would like the wingers + nani + rooney join carrick and scholes in midfield when defending and then the four join up front when attacking

so basically 4 6 when city have the ball but 4 2 4 when we do

I put smalling in for rafa as although I love rafa I think smalling is better defensively and in the challenge

Wellbecks (you've spelt that wrong btw)

Good as they are, I dont think Scholes and Carrick will be enough to contain City's midfield. An extra body is needed IMO. Something like this:

De Gea

Rafa Rio Evans Evra

Valencia Carrick Jones Scholes Nani

Rooney

I wouldnt mind seeing Giggs/Clevs in for Jones, but I certainly dont think we'll see our usual 4-4-1-1 formation.

weren't we all pessimistic before the fa cup clash before city? I remember some saying they didn't think we could do it but guess what.. we did!

We'll probably be facing 11 men this time.

i believe we took the lead against 11 men

we've been quite decent in the past away to city

LOL its not welbeck it was meant as beckham. Its a stupid private joke

Anyway I agree carrick and scholes are not enough to control city's midfield that is why I think the 4 6 and 4 2 4 approach is needed

Main thing for me is to get rooney up front. I would even suggest welbeck playing his role as he seems to hurry players more and like today can win the ball back and can get past players too. roo hasnt been on par with that side of things but keeps scoring

What I am afraid of is chicha up front and rooney in midfield with giggs, it will be disastrous

Yes, but about 75mins was played 11 v 10. It made things easier, you cant deny that.

I'm not saying we have no chance - it'll be a close game, probably only 1 goal in it. But I think our lack of numbers in CM is starting to catch up with us, and this is where I see us struggling.

Our lack of ability to get the job done when it really matters is what will cost us imo

Why on earth would Fergie leave Welbeck out ? He was excellent today. Drop Rooney into midfield to help out if need be. The only change i would make is Smalling in Rafael out. United have beaten City twice this season, lets make it 3 times.

merry - where I would disagree with your sentiment is that, IMO, we do get the job done when it needs doing. In fact we treat the likes of Everton too lightly and that is the main issue

Also if we score first (or go 4 -2 ahead) we think its over and lose concentration

I dont think we will got to city thinking 'easy' and that will be our saving grace, along with what I have been saying all day and that is mancini bottling it

Think LFC (if it wont give you nightmares) raise their game for us

This would have been a perfect match to go with a midfield three of ando, carrick and scholes. However we can play 4-2-4 when we are attacking and 4-5-1 when we are defending. Ferdinand and Evans don't seem to cope with tall players or those that can hold the ball

Oh, apologies

Anyway, I dont think Chicha will be anywhere near the starting 11 given Welbeck's performance today. I wouldnt mind seeing a 4-4-1-1, I would just seriously worry about Scholes. After about 70mins today he was completely shattered - players seemed to be walking past him. If this happens against the likes of Yaya, Silva and Nasri we are in trouble. That's why I would like to see an extra body in there, preferably in the shape of Jones or Cleverley.

I think complacency is the main problem and agree that lack of concentration has been a killer this season. Alt that in itself is a problem. Can you see us winning the 50-50 battles against a city team with their tails up? The complacency in itself suggests that we don't want it enough.
