Don't think pep will end up at United

BK - If i told you about 2 years ago Di Matteo would win the F.A cup and CL with Chelsea last season, would you have thought it would happen?

I think Pep is bound for United too

If anything, I doubt he'll be coming here

I love how many people on Twitter are all naming Mikel,Lampard and Rami in their teams for today.

None of them seem willing to entertain Oscar a bit deeper and Hazard and co upfront.

There all bricking it because there scared Oscar will get 'kicked'

On one of the forums that Bristol Rovers want Bamford on loan.

No, but I still don't think Pep will end up at United Maybe it's a bit of hope as well.

The Juve game proved my point from pre season that without a better midfield 2 and without a top class alternative to Torres we won't win a major trophy this season. The Juve midfield was far, far superior to ours

my team for today would be

Cech

Brana, Luiz, Terry, Cole
Romeu, Lampard
Moses (controversial I know), Oscar, Hazard
Torres (mostly because there's no alternative)

posted on 22/9/12

Why is Moses inclusion controversial? Most people want to see him starting on the wing today.

I would like to see:

Cech
Ivanovic – Cahill – Terry – Cole
Oscar – Romeu
Moses – Mata – Hazard
Torres

Hear me out with the inclusion of Oscar in the pivot….

Oscar needs to be in the pivot so they he can act as our temp setter.
Pretty sure Oscar will be alot more disclipined than Lampard in a midfield 2 as well as he is much more dynamic will press high up the pitch effectively and will provide quick accurate incisive passes(a la Modric).

Oscar wouldn’t be wasted deep(before anyone says he will), he would just need to be a little more disclipined.
More than capable of flourishing in the pivot, making the position his own as he’s very talented and versatile.

Modric a prime example of someone who is equally as good in the pivot and as a number 10, Oscar has the potential to be just as good If not better IMO.
Di Matteo missing a trick by not embedding him deeper now, with Hazard – Mata – Moses/Marin as the attacking 3.

Oscar will still be given the licence to do as he pleases in the pivot when we are in ascendancy.
Doesn’t have to play in the pivot throughout the season can chop and change positions(when Mata/Hazard need to be rested) such is his versatility.
If we can get him working in the two positions(Pivot & CAM) throughout the season that would be brilliant.

It’s essential that we have a tempo setter and direct/orthodox winger in the team, team needs balance.
Can’t be playing three CAM’s(Central attacking midfielders) together In the attacking 3.

It’s important that we are able to accomodate Oscar,Mata,Hazard and a ‘proper’ winger(Marin/Moses) in the team at all times as much as we can this season as any one of them can spark a moment of brilliance at any time.

Cmf no one's doubting Oscar's ability to play the pivot, in the same way no one doubts Messi's ability to play RW.

If Lampard starts It will be his 5th match in 15 days, just not right for 34 year old.
Should be used spatingly to get the best out of him.

Hello KDL.

Let me guess, you blame Torres for our draw vs Juve?

I agree completely in theory with everything you say there Cmf. I don't think Oscar would be wasted there, but going forward I do see him as more of a forward player and I think the big trick missed by us as a club has been not signing a tempo setting midfielder in any of the last 3 windows.

We are desperately crying out for a world class pair in the double pivot. Compare us to other teams in Europe and we're embarrassingly weak in that area (as well as in CF position this season).

Rather than push Oscar back (long term I mean). I'd much rather we went out and signed 2 midfielders. In the short term I agree with Oscar in the pivot, especially against a Stoke side who aren't mobile in CM. I don't see it happening tho.

I've been a big defender of Mikel over the years, but he hasn't improved in any of his weak areas and is simply not up to it.

npe - No, I blame our weak midfield and lack of alternative options for Torres.

posted on 22/9/12

Sorry, but I have had to fend off a lot of Torres-hate in the last few days- and I vaguely remember that he has never been your 'flavour of the month' so to speak,

I think Torres has doen alright. Yes he's no Falcao, but he's not been a disaster like some suggest.

KDL- I blame the midfield mostly as well, I don't understand why we sold Meireles.

npe - I will never be a fan of Torres as a footballer. He just doesn't have the attributes that appeal to me and is far too inconsistent .
