Mata was a ghost 2nd half. Only because Hazard was a man possessed and nobody else was needed.
Interesting how Mr C labels the last two performances decent and the rest of the season shlt.
what happened to your defence tonight?
I like how Mata is given credit for Hazard's performance and Mata is excused for being useless by virtue of Hazard's performance. By that logic Torres and everyone else on the team for that matter had no reason to turn up so they all deserve equal credit.
Mata was great in the first half Junior.
No he wasn't. Gave the ball away a few times and made no clear cut opportunities (the only reason he's useful).

Junior is definitely trying to downplay Mata (every week). Pretty pathetic. Borders on the Torres/TCP relationship.
Where was Mata's superb vision and creativity today? Oscar still contributes to more goals per game than Mata. And the sample size is pretty decent now.
no you haven't you were talking him up for ballon d'or at one point oscar fickle
Rtm no what's pathetic is the ridiculous fanboyism that goes on here regarding Mata.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "I know I will be close to a heart attack sometimes [with my team]. Eden Hazard was excellent. He told me at dinner last night 'boss, for a long time I haven't scored'. He decided he would score tonight."
Mourinho also said that he did not believe Sunderland, who are bottom of the table, will be relegated.
On Manchester United's title challenge: "It's difficult. But with Manchester United anything is possible."

I have no reason to downplay Mata. I don't care about him. I am completely indifferent.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet: "When you score three goals at home to a team like Chelsea then you expect to get something from it. I'm sad and I will go home a little bit disappointed.
"Eden Hazard was outstanding."
Asked whether his Sunderland side have just played the champions, Poyet added: "I am sure. I can tell you after playing Chelsea that they are going to be champions."
