Schurrle will probably be similar to Willian imo, both had sluggish starts before finding form, Schurrle should of played after his double against Stoke imo.
Steve - true. His run of games sitting after playing so well was really strange.
I think Schurrle will have to take on the responsibility of being a consistent goal threat to break into the starting XI. He was initially a striker afterall, and since we're lacking in the shooting/goalscorer department, that presents a good opportunity for him.
So obviously he did that well against Stoke, and that's what he should do more often (even though it won't be easy).
His goal against City for example involved some clever movement to distract Demichelis. That was him using some of those striker instincts. That's what he has over the players he's competing with.

@TheWSNetwork: Dutch paper De Gelderlander now also reports Bertrand Traore will immediately join Vitesse on loan. Club didn't want to confirm his arrival
Schurrle still hasn't shown much to me that he's anything other than a fast Kuyt. No problem with that - Kuyt was a good squad player.

Going back to an earlier topic, that team would survive relegation all young so would improve as the season progressed.
Paul Pogba: I feel good at Juve. I don't hide that when I was a child I was dreaming to play with Arsenal or Barcelona (Sky) #CFC #AFC #FCB
I don't hide the fact that when I was in the Manchester United youth team I used to dream of play for Arsenal
That team doesn't look half bad.
Would it be that hard to create a theoretic B team? Like couldn't Roman buy a small club somewhere, 'transfer' our youth players to said club, and watch them rise up the leagues (our U21 sides easily beat non-league teams in pre season friendlies). And when the players are ready they get 'transferred' to Chelsea. The Pozzo family have done a vaguely similar thing except their clubs are all in different countries.

BK I think there are limits for the number of players a club can loan from the same country.
So Vitesse are the closest thing we could achieve, but unfortunately because they're abroad it means players can't count as homegrown.
People talk about Spanish teams having more homegrown talent but having a B team in the second best league in the country is a massive advantage.

Gael Kakuta and Sam Hutchinson have been recalled from their loan spells at Vitesse.
But actually BK having said that, I'm sure on FM you can loan as many players as you like to your feeder club.
Guessing Kakuta will be sold.
or at least I've never had problems when doing that, although to be fair the maximum number of players I've loaned to a Championship feeder club was never that high.
Does it have to be England or UK to count as homegrown?
Just saying we could buy a Scottish club.
I know the Scottish leagues are crap, but it could be an idea.
but otherwise it would be a good idea for Roman to just buy a small club, as you said. We could allow AFC Wimbledon to use our training facilities
We could buy a Scottish club to battle with Celtic for the SPL title and reach CL qualifying stages
