I keep waiting for the priest to get killed. But I figure they've already killed way too many black guys.

npe your depiction of US politics isn't really accurate. Yes there are very wealthy very right wing figures/groups who are very influential (like the Kochs, Fox News and the NRA) but the vast majority of the traditional big lobby groups/corporate sponsors are generally moderate and hate the racism, bigotry and evangelism from the tea party. Obama had pretty much all of Wall Street on his side in 2008 for example.
The Democrats are a bit spineless. The worst part is they have allowed themselves to be convinced by the vicious attacks on Obama that he has been useless when he hasn't been.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the reason those supposed moderates supported Obama is because he offered no change. He never was going to and they saw it immediately.
Money dictates US politics and the idea that there is an extreme variation in politcal view between left wing liberals and ultra conservatives is a nonsense. Its a battle between two groups of right wingers.
If the Democrats were remotely progressive , then Hillary Clinton would not be their frontrunner,
With the exception of the Young Turks, and the New York Times.....I struggle to think of credible media in America.
Oh man. Holes. So many holes. Im not chatting politics though.
Ni holes. Just reality. US politics is bought and sold.
The US has such a complex sociopolitical landscape that it's impossible to make any kind of general assumption that can't be thoroughly picked apart by some other guy who has different interests. And opinion differs so much by region. It's why nothing ever really gets done (e.g., universal healthcare, gun reform, stem cell research, probably other stuff, etc.). Presidents want to have a legacy but are generally paralyzed domestically with their mandate so just default to bombing the middle east.
