Chelsea have been frustrated in their efforts to sign Everton defender John Stones, with a second bid of £26m turned down on Wednesday.

However, the Premier League champions are prepared to bid up to £30m which includes a series of add-ons.

This is still short of Everton's £34m valuation for the England centre back and the Merseyside club are hopeful that interest from Manchester United could drive his price up.




I think £30m + 2-4m in adds on will be the clincher.

Signing means there will be ramifications for one of Cahill/Zouma though, who will it be?

Or will Jose use Zouma in midfield more often(at the expense of Mikel)?

I think Zouma will be kept, he deputised very well in midfield and has looked on it in pre season.

I dont think its a bad thing to have 4 CB either

All will be kept, 4 great options which will be 3 maybe as soon as next season.

4 CB's in matchday squad(5 If you include Ivanovic is excessive) and not very practical.
Still one LB spot to filled on the bench.


Bench should consist of: GK, CB, LB, DM, CM, W, ST.

Begovic, Ramires and new LB signing are nailed down being on the bench regularly, rest is anyone's guess.
