I am quite sympathetic to young talents at the club, and feel our previous treatment of young players will lead to players like Musonda feeling this way. But also have reservations with the Musonda situation regarding his actual talent/potential, timing of his outburst/what more he expected from Conte at this point in time, and that a loan wouldn't be that bad tbh.

If its true (and lets be honest we cant be sure) that we wanted to loan Musonda and he wanted to stay and fight for his place with 3 experienced, title winning international wingers, then its a bit much he is moaning early Oct about playing time.

I wonder if Conte gave him assurances he would get a fair chance?

If Conte wouldn't give Chalobah assurances, I doubt he would give Musonda any.

The only time I think Musonda would be rightfully annoyed is if he doesn't get to play in the League Cup (or in the CL once we have qualification/top of the group sorted).

Which does make me think that maybe he is asking too much considering what he has achieved or shown so far.

Been reading stories about how he is unhappy, and wants to play in Spain for quite a while now.

Could be all media crap, but I suspect not in this case.

Thing is if he feels in training he is as good as the others (hazard aside) and they are not performing well on match days he should be given a chance.

Difficult to disagree, but we dont see what goes on in training.

Be a waste of time, it will be someone elses fault.

It always is.

Not sure I see the point in loaning Musonda in Jan only to sign a mediocre player to be 4th choice AM.

Conte does seem to be reluctant to give any youth a chance and with the likelihood that he's not going to be here long term I hope we don't make the same mistake that we did with Jose of catering mainly to his preferences.

Any 4th choice winger would get virtually no game time, so hardly any benefit to signing someone new and expensive to replace Musonda.

Musonda's timing makes so little sense considering the busy month ahead, including a league cup game - probably his best chance of a start.

If Musonda is going to be loaned mid-season (which I highly doubt), then might as well promote Hudson-Odoi to 4th/5th choice (training with first team, whilst still playing with development squad).

I say 5th choice because Fabregas is there as another forward option. Will most certainly be ahead.

Buy Sanchez, relegate Willian and Pedro to 3rd/4th Choice.
