Born in a small town in Andalusia, I attended
the seminary as a boy but longed to travel
the world. I finally got the courage to ask
my father's permission to become a
shepherd so that I could travel the fields of
Andalusia. One day, I met a mysterious man
in the town of Tarifa, who sent me on a
journey to the other side of Africa. I was a
curious boy whose open mind made me
particularly suited to finding my Personal
Legend. I also value my freedom very
highly, which is why I became a shepherd
and why I amreticent to get involved in
things which threaten my freedom. In the
end, I realized that playing it safe is often
more threatening to my freedom than
taking a risk.
