If we are letting first teamers go then I can only assume

A: Emerson is now first choice and we replace backup with youth
B: we know for sure that we will be able to sign players and will replace

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it ain't B

With Alonso we can probably negotiate a high price for him, unlike some of our other ‘expendable’ first teamers

Should break the bank for Sane if we delay the ban

Still undecided if I watch CL final. I just can't be up for watching two teams that I dislike play agst each other.

Atletico Madrid want to sign Marcos Alonso, who is interested in the move. Just missing an agreement with Chelsea.

- Marca and Fichajes.

^ Lol Simeone probably wants him at LW then because there’s no way he would tolerate his defensive shenanigans!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't be surprised if he improved a lot under Simeone, not to mention the protection he'll have because of the system.

Stefan Savic was a meme at City but was turned into one of the best defenders around by Simeone.

I would not go that far, but we certainly should be looking at him if ban lifted. He has become the bad boy in the national team and with Pep. He may be a problem player to manage.

I’m hoping that characterisation of him is a media fabrication Biggish.

I would actually make a sneaky enquiry for Jesus if anyone.

Usually I would say no to bringing in players who can't get in teams that we are trying to catch but he's an exception as he doesn't get in due to how good Aguero is more than any slight on himself.

Sane would be a game changing signing, provided he isn’t as much of a problem player as he’s made out to be

Sane is the same age as RLC and is super productive, would be great having those two in the same team

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/maurizio-sarri-wants-to-stay-at-chelsea-but-only-if-the-club-back-him-cnbpgglkg

Maurizio Sarri will tell Chelsea that he wants stay at the club next season if they are prepared to give him their full backing. The Italian is ready to reject an approach from Juventus and recommit to Chelsea if they want him to remain at Stamford Bridge following his side’s Europa League victory over Arsenal, although that is not guaranteed.

The manager is set for talks with Marina Granovskaia, the Chelsea director, over the next few days. Sarri will ask for assurances that Chelsea are ready to back his tactical approach and man-management methods in the face of hostility from some fans, who have complained of being bored by his style of play.

The 60-year-old’s future at the club has been in doubt for much of the season, and Chelsea were preparing to sack him had they lost a Premier League game at home to Tottenham in February, which they ended up winning 2-0. After finishing third in the league and winning the Europa League, however, his first season in charge has been judged a qualified success.

Sarri does not have a release clause in his contract at Chelsea, but with just one year left on the deal he signed 12 months ago Juventus could buy him out of it for £5 million. While the former Napoli coach is attracted to the idea of joining Juventus, who are utterly dominant in Italy, having won eight successive Serie A titles, he would be reluctant to leave Chelsea halfway through his contract. All of Sarri’s assistant coaches would require new deals should he stay because, as The Times revealed earlier this month, they only signed one-year contracts.

Sarri’s thoughts on recruitment are less relevant than his demand for Chelsea to back his methodology, because the club may be banned from signing players for two transfer windows as a punishment for breaching Fifa regulations regarding the registration of minors. They are hopeful that the suspension will be lifted this summer pending their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The manager has accepted that Eden Hazard will leave this summer having publicly said goodbye to the fans in the immediate aftermath of his match-winning Europa League final performance, but Chelsea are holding out for an offer of £100 million from Real Madrid.

Sarri’s insistence that he wants to stay could be a tactic to ensure that he receives a pay-off if Chelsea decide to sack him, which the club would resist in the light of Juventus’ interest. Chelsea have spent more than £90 million on compensation payments to managers during the Roman Abramovich era. The Times revealed last week that they have been ordered to pay £9 million to Antonio Conte by a Premier League managers’ arbitration tribunal.

On reflection when I look at our potential options with a transfer ban, we should still be in the top four race next season...

GKs: Kepa, Caballero, Green, Eduardo,Blackman, Cummings
FBs: Emerson, Alonso, Azpilicueta, Zappacosta, James, Aina, DaSilva, Baba Rahman, Sterling
CBs: Luiz, Rudiger, Christensen, Ampadu, Tomori, Zouma, Clarke-Salter, Hector, Kalas, Omeruo, Miazga
CMs: Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, Loftus-Cheek, Mount, Barkley, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, van Ginkel, Gilmour, Baker
WGs: Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Pedro, Willian, Moses, Kenedy, Musonda, Piazon
STs: Giroud, Abraham, Morata, Batshuayi

I think you can get a squad of 23 players out there which can challenge for fourth especially due to the disarray United and Arsenal find themselves in

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow really. I put us out of the top 4 for certain mainly because we lose Hazard and still don't solve the striker problem. Honestly think we have zero chance top 4 if ban in place.

Depends which Sane turns up, the one in 2017/18 or this season's Sane who has been sketchy at best.

===================

93.35 mins per G+A in the PL this season.

I highly doubt City would sell to us but if they would he's probably the best option on the wing we could get to replace Hazard in terms of already being really good and having the potential to be even better.

I think we'll be in the title race until about game 30 next season then we'll slip away and finish 3rd/4th with spurs

Think we'll go very deep and probably win the CL next season tho

I'm not sure about that but then again you can't underestimate the winning mentality that runs through the club from top to bottom.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair, I said challenge for fourth and its always relative - I think our chances are improved by Spurs' lack of funds due to the stadium, Arsenal needing a total overhaul and United being in total disarray.

I also think if Sarri stays, a big if, he can remove the deadwood and at the very least work with younger players who might be flexible enough to adapt to his style.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe this is a coping method and I'm trying to convince myself it won't be too bad with Hazard gone and the ban enforced but our best team displays of Sarriball apart from last night dus far have tended to be without Hazard on the pitch (Arsenal first half, Burnley away, Europa all be it against weak opponents).

When he's playing the boys tend to look for him to do something and hide behind that safety net, but whenever that safety nets removed they all tend to feel an extra responsibility an up their game a bit, it happened at the start of Conte's second season aswell.

If we play our cards right it could be a similar situation to how Arsenal improved after selling Henry.
