You're not keen on Lamps ever or just too soon biggish?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think it is too soon, I imagine in time he would be a great manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think so too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm quite certain Lamps is going to be a top class manager. He has pretty much every attribute you need including intelligence. Pretty sure he has a very high IQ. For a footballer anyway. Also without getting too homo Lamps just has something about him. You can imagine him succeeding at whatever profession he put his mind to.

so where is the sense in waiting ?

Let's hope the king of spin gets this one right!!!

Lets hope Conte takes him, as im sure RM will want to take us to the cleaners. Thought he started well but never really progressed past neat and tidy. Other than that offered imo very little
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A pretty good appraisal of the situation Simon!

I'll drive Kovacic to Milan. Can only see him being a half decent backup to Jorginho in the regista role. But if Sarri is off then we obviously won't be playing that system anymore anyway.

I would say it may make more sense appointing Lampard now than in a few years.

Now he's had the groundwork layed for him with his style of play but should we move back to type then appoint Frank in a few years he will have a lot more initial work to change to his style of play compared to now where he will be taking over from a manager who sees things similarly.

Furthermore, should he establish himself as a PL manager in the next few years he may not even a come to us, he could be seen as a natural successor to Guardiola and given the way he went to City as a player, are we sure he won't choose a place with better conditions to succeed if he's given a direct choice? Unlike Terry and Drogba, he seems the type that would only follow his heart to a point.

There's never a perfect time to try this, but the current circumstances is as good a time as any.

I wouldn't wait if I was running the club. I'd get Lamps+Morris in this summer.

But then again I'd be willing to show lots of patience for him to learn on the job and bring through youth, possibly at the expense of CL football for a season to two if necessary.

Not sure we have the right organisation at the club to give Lamps the right platform he'd need to succeed. This is my main concern.

We will if Frank is manager, well I hope so.

I will be depressed if Kante is a sitting DM going into the new season, probably the only way the already bleak outlook could look worse in my eyes.

I am not sure our fan base or the club are patient enough to have Lampard on a three year development programme with no onus to win trophies.

Purely playing Kante as a sitting DM is counter productive as his best attribute is energy.

So you either lose his energy or risk leaving gaps in behind (like what happened in the first six games under Conte, especially against Arsenal).

Sad if true. Personally I think that it's not the fans that's the problem it's the club. In terms of patience.

I think the fans would be fine if we were playing decent football while bringing through youth and academy players. Even if we weren't winning trophies for two or three season.

At the same time I understand how we've all become so used to winning trophies here. We've been spoiled rotten.

Manchester United have moved into pole position to sign Leicester City's James Maddison this summer.

United have made the 22-year-old their new priority, and he is likely to cost close to £60million if he leaves the King Power this summer. No official bid has been made yet, and this is still the early stage of enquiries and discussions about the transfer.

Everton know the price they must pay to prize Bertrand Traore from Lyon.

The Toffees are keen to bring former Chelsea striker Traore back to England.

The Mirror says it will cost the Merseyside outfit around £40m to do so.

The 23-year-old has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season.

Maybe we'll get a cut from the sell-on fee.
