at those EL teams being Everton/Leicester standard. Only ones were Frankfurt and Arsenal where he got one goal in the three games

Once again, the point is that Tammy has done more already this PL season than Giroud did in the entirety of the last PL season.

You then said Giroud didn’t play in the PL last season but he played 800+ minutes compared to Tammy’s 250 so far this season. 4-1 to Tammy in goals.

Based on those facts I’d say Tammy deserves to be the starter in the league right now.

Sorry Giroud got 2 PL goals last season

"Premier League clubs set to back plans to scrap early closing of transfer window and move back in line with rest of Europe at meeting on Thursday" -
https://trib.al/XxPVaN1

"Sources have told Sportsmail that the move has been 'a disaster' and there is a growing confidence that those who wish to return to the old system will secure the 11 votes needed to trigger its reinstatement."

"Much of the discontent comes from clubs within the big six, who feel that the switch - brought in to protect each side from having its players poached during the season - has done little other than leave all English clubs vulnerable to raids from Europe.

There is also a belief that the early closure, which sees the window shut on the final Thursday before the new campaign kicks off, has unnecessarily given those on the Continent the edge when it comes to negotiating fees"

Common sense prevails

I think it's BS not to expect other Chelsea fans to not care where we finish in the league.

I want us competing for that top 4 position throughout the season because I think we have a good enough squad to do so.

Imagine going into games not caring about results, just happy our youth are getting minutes. Feck that.

If we finish 7 or lower it'll mean Lampard has failed as a manager or our youth haven't lived up to expectations.

Blimey...you're not NPE in disguise are you TLLL...?

Seriously I'd adjust my expectations a tad mate....unless we suddenly get tighter at the back...and learn to play past 45 minutes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think our squad isn't good enough to compete with Arsenal and Man U? Let's not forget United have a weaker squad then ours and have just as many youngsters in their squad as we do.

Nobody is saying we shouldn't care at all about where we finish, it's more about not obsessing on whether or not we get top four and not judging our season as a success or failure based on that alone.

This season is unique, a total one-off, a freak that won't happen again and we need to judge it that way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You and Biggish have pretty much said you don't care where we finish in the league.

No one has said the season would be a failure if we don't get top 4. All we want is to be competing with the likes of Arsenal and Man U for a top 4 finish.

I'm sure Lampard and the players have set sights on a top 4 finish. I don't see why the fans shouldn't.

I'm in favour of playing youth players that are on the same level as senior counterparts, but the key thing is it's on merit.

I'm not expecting much this season and care about seeing us build long term progress, but sixth place should still be a minimum. As bad as things can be without Hazard, we still have a squad that shouldn't be worried about finishing 7fh.

Well first of all its not about younger players getting minutes, its about identified young talent being developed and improved.

Secondly i thinbk its BS you think young players only have this one season to prove themselves, which is what you post infers.

Thirdly, why does league position matter so much to you? If we aint winning the league, CL notwithstanding, what significance diference does it make if we finish 4th or 7th
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Well I don't see why young talent can't be developed whilst competing for a top 4 finish. United will be doing the same.

2. I was harsh on our youngsters but some of these guys do only have this season to prove themselves. If Tammy scores less then 15 PL goals this season do you think he'll still be our 1st choice striker next season? We'll end up buying a top striker to replace him (who'll probably flop).

3. I obviously want to see us in the CL. Playing the best teams, signing/attracting the best players.

If we don't make it I'm fine with that as long as we took it right to the wire.

I just want to see us competing for something, not lingering in mid table with nothing to play for in January wishing the season would end.

I think our squad is good enough to finish top 4. Maybe I just rate our youngsters + experienced players more then you?

Don't think it's possible for a top striker to flop with Lampard's style of play tbh. Which Is why it has to be s priority as we instantly go up a couple of notches with one

Also hate the mentality that the only thing stopping a youth player is lack of minutes. Some (most) are not good enough

If we end up this season in 7th because we prioritised 'developing youth' over results and then we realise half the youth can't cut it we are in a shlt position
