Walker's been very good for City. And their LB plays a slightly weird role that Delph, Zinchenko and Mendy have been capable of filling.
They don't need their full backs to attack nearly as much as say Liverpool do.

This video from Steve Holland (ex Chelsea assistant manager) sort of explains it. He basically explains how Conte's Chelsea, Pep's City and Klopp's Liverpool all are variations on the same theme when attacking - trying to create a 3-2-5 shape when in possession and attacking.
Essentially when in possession, City try to create a front 5 (so with their 2 wingers, 2 attacking CMs and the CF). The full backs then either move into midfield or play as an additional CB. They don't constantly look to get forward and overlap.
Liverpool have Alexander-Arnold and Robertson push up to join Mane, Salah and Firmino in a front 5 and their midfielders drop back.

I got banned from BBC 606 twice and I was only a member for about five months.

I got banned for a lacklustre throwaway comment about northern Europe having a better work ethic than southern med Europe....I may have mentioned protestant work ethic, during the Lennon at Celtic first time around fiasco, LMAO.
Anything remotely religious or political was a fear for the BBC...bit like now and their BLMUK worship.

I got banned for an increasingly rude slanging match with a Spurs fan.
I later got banned exclusively from the Spurs board for making a WUM article about 'Arry.

Pep can literally spend whatever he likes at City though. If he was at a team with a tight budget, I don't think full backs would be such a priority

This doesn’t just mean he goes out and spends 30-40m for the sake of it haha, they have invested in players like Walker, Mendy and Cancelo because they’re good players for an important position. I agree with npe - it is quite an outdated view that full backs aren’t an important position for teams these days.

Of course they're more important than ever, but teams ideally sort out other areas before full back.
