Why were Spurs fans booing Alonso, by the way? Is that because of the goals he’s scored against them - I think he won an FA Cup semi final for us against Spurs. But if scoring against Spurs is he reason - they really should be booing our whole team

All that talk about carbon emissions was a red herring. When Spurs said this game would be “net zero” I think they were just predicting how many times they would score today.

Worst we’ve played all year? And won 3-0. And could have been 6.

I think our lack of service to lukaku needs looking at and wtf were kovacic and Werner doing ffs.

But our defence has been phenomenal. Also shout out to kepa

Yep this is the biggest conundrum in football at the moment as basically in 30 minutes of football Werner has done more than Kai and Ziyech combined in 5 games. Also look at the difference - first 70 mins we create maybe 3 good chances, last 20 we make easily half a dozen. And that wasnt just today that was the story of last seasons, we made dozen of chances every game. A couple of others have said the Werner/Lukaku partnership certainly looks like it could work, and it looks the better option out of Kai and Ziyech who if i am to be honest for me at least dont feel like CFC players. Eden was a luxury player but had a grit in him, Werner has that but no goals, i dont think Kai and Ziyech have it.

I don’t think xG includes situations where a shot wasn’t actually taken.

So Werner being 1v1 but failing to attempt a finish wouldn’t contribute to expected goals.

Maybe. But still kovacic, 3 goals, another Thiago header and other chances but only 2.2? Lol

Well Kante’s shot was a long shot that was deflected. So that usually wouldn’t go in.

Kovacic’s chance goes back to my earlier point. He had a great chance, but by the time he actually shot he had narrowed down the angle massively.

I think it was more like 2.5 anyway. Also bear in mind that having 4 sitters would translate to 3 expected goals, because players don’t always convert chances. I think we should’ve scored 4 today based on quality of chances.
