Nah I rate TT doesn’t start Lukaku, probs just for one or two games to make a statement, probably fair
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he doesn't...then he's not the manager I think he is...that's just petty & cutting off your nose to spite your face
---------------------------------------------------
There was an argument to not start him regardless. Tactically the way to get at Liverpool's defence is to draw them out & he has the opposite effect/players drop back for him. And as good as he is, you can't exactly rely on him in big games can you? Also risked the match turning into a sideshow if sections of the crowd booed him today which isn't a good look.
There were always going to be pluses/negatives whatever Tuchel's decision here, glad I didn't have to make it.

TT has said he's not making any more of this than needs to be...so unless this has irrevacably broken down & we are selling him...he should start & play
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree. All this does is add unwanted attention. Starting Lukaku would have killed this story in it's tracks.
See how it plays out. A few reports are still putting him in the starting lineup .
Unfortunately this was going to be the story of the match if he started or not.
Don't see a way back from this for Lukaku.
If only Inter had money and he could go back to his beloved club and fans.
Tierney, who Klopp was pisśed at, no longer the VAR for our match.
Sensing a heavy loss and some controversial decisions later.

Yep. Problem is the lack of suitors with cash.
Would happily sell if we could recoup the fee paid.
I think we'll start well, then tire and probably get facked by Anthony Taylor.
Media darling Trent will probably score the winner - and Carragher (who will be on comms) will likely orgazm into the microphone.

That's what happens when you publicly belittle your current club, criticise the manager's tactics in public and say your heart is in Milan.
Sky Liverpool will be having a field day today.
It'll be Souness and co sticking the knife in at every opportunity
thank heavens i am working and missing the game then

Not necessarily. Puts a lot of pressure on him to have a great performance in what could well be a hostile atmosphere for him. If it was Drogba yes, worth the risk cos his mentality is spot on. Lukaku? That's a huge gamble.
He'll be back in the team for Chesterfield at the latest & the story will fade gradually.

And told a player outright not to join us
Suppose we had similar (although not as bad) moments with Drogba. He had said before he never wanted to leave Marseille to join us but that's history. Two very different players mentality wise unfortunately

It was certain things he said that he didn't need too that was the problem, for me anyway. Got no issues with him trying to rebuild bridges with Inter fans as he made no secret they saved his career in his mind - but he didn't have to say he WILL be back (which actually disrespects them as much as us, who says they want him back?), he could've just said Martinez is his brother & shut up there.
Way too emotional & impulsive. He probably regrets it right now.
Oh yeah, and the indirectly saying we were his 4th choice. Technically 5th if you count staying at Inter was 1st.
Who here has a ninja foodi or machine fryer thing??

I mean for £20m I'd take him.
Hopefully Lukaku learns his lesson and publically apologised
I know Traore has shet end product but imagine the fear he’d bring into opponents getting forward from RWB.
He seems to have regressed a little bit last season and a half, even in his ball carrying and dribbling, which previously regardless of everything else was his unique top level strength for him

Shet final ball & end product, yep we'll take him
Way forward I think is drop Lukaku for couple games, probably gunna have another interview or press conference through the club or not explaining himself. Doesn’t have to be bigger than it is.
But yeah can’t get my head around just why the interview happened and he said what he said. Even from a Pov of he’s just being honest, no need for it at that point in time
