That Gallagher who the moment he is pressed loses possession and his only redeeming feature is that he runs making the odd tackle and getting booked

Spent all this money only for Gallagher and Chuk to still be starting. I guess we'll have to wait to see our "proper" team but if those 2 are still starting after 5/6 games then they're either in the form of their lives or something has seriously gone wrong with our recruitment

Must admit to go through the saga we have for Caicedo etc he would have been starting, but that's just me. I know Poch has probably looked at the pre season and training sessions he missed prior to moving to us. But aside from that, I'd if had him starting imo

3atb absolutely kills any chance of players like Mudryk or Madueke really getting going. The inside forwards are starved of space whereas the wingbacks have all the freedom and space when it comes to attacking. If you look at the shots/chances created when we go 3atb, the WBs always end up at the top of the charts. It's not an accident - it's the nature of the formation.

The weird thing is, we pretty much played 4atb exclusively during preseason. But now the season starts and 3atb seems like the default. Still early days but I'll definitely start questioning if Caceido is starting and w

I think Nkunku being injured and no replacement as such yet has probably had a say on the formation as well sadly.

4-3-3 with any of Sterling, Mudryk or Madueke (or Maatsen) on the wings is doable too. And gives us more of a goal threat. Reece at WB provides something in the box but nothing I've seen of Gusto so far makes me think he can offer similar contributions.

Not really it’s smart management

Don’t just put someone straight in the team because of their price tag and when they’ve only been here under a week and just remove someone who did well last week. That’s unfair and would show transfer cost > everything

Instead Poch keeps everyone on their toes and nobody is A automatic starter

Only rookies would of started Caicedo
